Does this come with all the wires? and can you use this with a macbook pro?

It only comes with the power supply. You can use it with a MacBook pro. If you want to trigger sounds with it and bring them into your computer (like into Garage Band for example) You'll need and "A/B USB" cable.

I wanted a drum pad for my home studio so i bought the spd-sx. it works but would the spd30 have been better? (i don't sample or play live) thanks

SPDS-SX has more capabilities. Import your own sounds or songs. SPD-30 does not.

Can you layer sounds on a single pad?

Can you add your own samples to this unit, or play them from a flash drive?

Hi Nathan, You can't *play* them directly from a flash drive, however you can import any .wav 16bit/44.1kHz files into the SPD-SX's internal memory and then trigger them from either the on-board pads or from external trigger pads connected to the trigger inputs.
