Absolutely love this, I got it for my son for his 2016 Audi A3, although Audi has its own screen nothing beats the CarPlay, easy installation and it works perfectly

Installed this in my 2014 Audi A4 B8.5 with 2G MMI. The most difficult part of the install is removing the vent and radio. Make sure you buy trim removal tools and the Audi keys to remove the unit in the glove box. Directions on YouTube don’t have English and are very hard to follow. The unit stopped working after two days. Car play would randomly disconnect and the screen would turn black and go back to the OEM screen. When holding the "NAV" button the module would click and the screen would just flicker and go black. I triple checked everything and nothing is installed incorrectly. The controls never worked for the center control knob and I could only get the steering wheel to control everything.

PROs Love the fact that the instructions are clear. There are plenty of videos on YouTube about how to install it. After it's installed, the system works flawlessly. I'm now able to navigate in foreign countries without having to look down at my phone. CONs Depending on your vehicle. The insulation may require you to have a friend period I ended up cutting the wires to my glove box because I didn't have someone to help me prop it up. It doesn't have really good instructions on how to use it. So you have to play around a little bit in order to get them familiar with it. Finally, it doesn't come with the password to upgrade the firmware on the device. Overall, it's worth the money!

Just finished installing this item from Amazon in my 2016 Audi Q5 TDI Premium Plus. I had ordered a similar product produced by Bremmer Parts and sold by ESC Tuning and do not recommend either. The Bremmer product included a wiring diagram in Chinese with English subtitles which were absolutely useless and no other installation guidance. The return experience with ESC Tuning was an experience I never wish to repeat. Maybe I got them on a bad day but their customer service department would not accept phone calls; their online return service was not functioning and there were no supervisory personnel available. I sent the product back with all the paperwork I could find and will see if I get the promised refund or if I have to dispute the charge. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EITHER THE BREMMER PRODUCT ,OR ESC TUNING. I ordered this product from Amazon and paid a 30% premium because of (a.) Amazon's customer service and (b) it seemed, online, to have better documentation. I was able to install the product in a little less than two hours (it is the messing with wiring and plugs as well as the keys required to remove an Audi radio, that takes the time) and the product worked flawlessly. I had to do a little experimenting with the blue tooth connection (took about five minutes) to get full music streaming functionality but it is now perfect and compares very favorably with the wireless Car Play that came with my wife's 2023 MDX except my Audi lacks the touch screens native to the Acura. Siri takes care of virtually everything so who needs the touch screens, anyway. Impressive product that is well documented and in my case, a pretty easy install. Thank you Ninetom, for producing and delivering a fine product that is well documented and performs beautifully. 11 months later Product worked flawlessly for about 6 months then it stopped sending audio to the car speakers for no apparent reason. I fiddled with all the car settings and car play settings I could find, and got it working again (have no idea what I did to make it work) for about two weeks. Have messed with all the settings I can find and cannot get audio to car speakers. I wear "made-for-iPhone" hearing aids and all audio goes to the hearing aids Contacted the manufacturer (in China) through the Amazon site and the response was very good however they asked I contact them directly at "[email protected]" and the support has completely stopped - no response, at all. Am staying at the problem and will report more later

Well, the product was not all that difficult to install. It's basically plug and play into the stock 3G MMI system but, the keys/tool required to remove the radio not included or mentioned you will need to buy/have these to install, slowing me down a day or so…would be nice if they included these with this kit. As for the installation, the biggest issue I had was the installation instructions…they are TERRIBLE! (however, I purchased this in July 2023, and it seems like they might have updated them). I’m in the U.S. and you can clearly see/read that the device was manufactured in China (which pretty much everything is made there nowadays to decrease costs/price competitive), however, the YouTube video was very helpful, even though it was in some of the steps very vague and/or skipping steps. The only problem I had was tucking away the box/module back into the space behind/below the radio and AC controls while allowing the wifi antenna to be mounted as close the the surface as possible which I believe helped a lot with the system working well 8 out of 10 times or so. Initially, everything connected and worked properly…however, for a good 6-8 weeks or so I had the issue of my iPhone not connecting having to go reconnect devices (iPhone, Android, etc.) manually which proved to be pretty dang annoying and sometimes only fixable by powering the car and stereo down entirely then start over. You have to, or at least I had to in the beginning turn wifi on and off to get the system to boort up properly and connect to my phone. It seems to work much better if you only connect and use 1 iPhone/Android at a time. When I added my girlfriends phone so she could use it, and it was always random whether it would connect to my phone even though i was 60-100 feetr away from her….and when she was connected, I would have to go through reconnecting my device and disconnecting her phone entirely. My 3G MMI system was total crap, and sometimes very slow and lagging to boot up alreasdy, this device also seems to take about few monutes to boot the MMI systen up and have carplay work quickly and be responsive 6-7 times out of 10. Lastly, there is one more annoying problem which keeps the system turned on when car is unlocked and many times being near the car when its locked. It gets frustrating when im in my garage on a phonecall and the CarPlay connects to my car even though its been locked for a long while. BUT…this system is so worth it. I started loving my car again and willing to keep and drive it for a few more years because it keeps the stock look and use. The screen settings need to be adjuicsted to fit properly whithin the stock screen/display. Youll need to play arouind with pretty much every setting to get tuned the way you want yours. When making calls over the system (utilizing the modules bluetooth which works much better than the stock setup) requires using the microphone setup and tuning option they have making your calls mostly work well enough for most calls. Overall, I highly recommend this product if getting CarPlay or Android Auto in your vehicle while keeping the original stock ‘look’… One last thing that Im having issues with right now is after installing the most recent IOS 18 software update which removed many of the apps that were on CarPlay (even the messages app). Defeating the purpose of using siri to make calls, texts, etc. in the car like newer vehicles with iPhone CarPlay built in and more modern. Biggest thing to get used to is no touch screen, you have to use the existing turn knob, menu, back buttons etc. to get the use/functionality that you most likely want. Sorry, one more item to mention is the inability and not included 4 digit passcode to update the firmware to align with IOS18’s updates. Support has totally sucked and I cant seen to get an answer of ehat the passcode was/is. in order to try and update the system easily (which obvioisly were not included or mentioned on the instructions or even the youtube video install doesn’t show or talk about. SELLER - if you read this, please help me get many of the apps I had on CarPlay that are no longer, please. Thanks, MJ
