Clarks Men's Montacute Lord Ankle Boots

I nearly made a mistake with these boots by wanting to return them straight away. Although I clicked into Amazon's great return system, I have changed my mind. Why? I already have two pairs of this type of Clarks boot, black and brown, work and casual. These ones felt a bit heavier and stiffer than my other ones. However, after the mandatory wearing of them in the house for most of Sunday, I'll keep them. Good quality leather, sound sole, comfortable (now) fit and smart appearance. What more could I ask for. Interestingly, the price I paid, including postage, is only ten pounds more than I was quoted for a new winter sole and heel on my hard-worn-over-two-years first pair. Simples!

Solid boot with a great tread. Currently just breaking them in and waiting for some mink oil to arrive with them. Chestnut colour is super nice and the lining is warm, really looking forward to wearing over autumn and winter.My first proper boot and I've been shopping around quite a while. Worth spending the extra money for the fabric lining, keeps toes toasty.Edit: taking a fair while to break in. I wore them around the house plenty but wearing for the day gave me blisters on both heels. Be prepared to get some plasters but I think they're taking longer than expected to soften up.

This must be my 4th pair of Clarks boots and they are as comfortable as always. Once you try them on, rest assured your next pair will be Clarks.

Definitely a good winter purchase. Wasn't expecting nor wanted the internal fleece but turned out to be a good winter boot. Want the same without the fleece for spring. Fits like a size up and I know my feet aren't shrinking.

well made- leather is heavy grain and feels rubbery - may be too warm for many to wear outside winter but a good well made boot.

Xmas pressi just put onn today 1st time and eyelet fell of mmmmm fit is fine and the boot but not haapy i bought this as a gift..onky got box now.

Great boots. I deliberated over buying these a while back and I can say that I don't regret my purchase. My only real complaint about these is that the laces burst after about a month of wearing them.Other than that, no complaints. I'm actually surprised these boots don't cost £40-50 more than what I paid for them, as they're better quality than other boots I've bought in this price range.
