so far so bright - beats katana
So far these are way better and easier than previous generation Katana's that I just removed because they finally failed. The Katanas did last 4 years, so that's good, but what a hassle they were. They needed the CANBUS module (had to find a place for TWO of them under the hood, the light itself had to be disassembled in order to use the factory retaining rings, the bulbs did not have an orientation key so very easy to install wrong, the integrated fans lasted about 3 months before they started screeching so loud it sounded like a failed engine part. These Auxbeams went right in, and only one possible direction, locked in place, and work great - so far. And no bulky CANBUS modules require. Will revise this review as needed. But so far they are great!

Misleading Power Draw Rating - Otherwise Great!
Fantastic H7 LED bulb, but almost returned them. Specifications list a power draw of 80 watts which is over 6.5 amps each at 12 volts DC and over 2 amps higher than the normal H7 bulb rating of 55 watts. Way too much - but wait, there's more. In the reviews there are two reviewers that did a power draw test and they use much less than 80 watts, typically 45 watts each - much less than the 55 watt stock bulb. Looks like 80 watts is the equivalent power brightness and not the true power draw. Misleading. Knowing that, I installed them and so far are working great in my 2013 smart fortwo passion high beam location. Good light dispersion and great down-road range. I wish their web site and Amazon specifications would state the true power consumption in watts and not some 80 watt brightness equivalency that is basically non-verifiable.

Drastic improvement over my stock headlights
Full disclosure, I am absolutely unqualified to speak on the technical specs of this product, and I’m not a huge car guy, I just had the opportunity to test these lights and needed new headlight bulbs, so I ran with it.All in all I’m very happy with these lights. Packaging was secure and attractive, all printed materials felt like high quality stock, and the bulbs feel quite premium. Installation on my Civic was quick and easy, and they aligned perfectly per the very easy to understand instructions. I needed to adjust the height a bit so as not to be one of *those* people, but that was also easy. Your mileage may vary depending on your vehicle, but if you have a Civic you should be pretty good to go with minimal anguish.I love the color of these lights. The 6500K temperature is so much nicer than the orange-ish glow of the original bulbs. As far as brightness, well, don’t expect a massive increase. From what I’ve read, the lumen number is almost useless in terms of how much brightness you actually get in front of the vehicle. It’s mostly just a marketing number. That said, these lights ARE brighter than my stock bulbs, and properly aimed they don’t blind anyone on the road. I’ve been driving with them for almost a week now and no one has flashed me, so that’s my litmus test.As far as the advertised price at the time of review, I saw lights with similar specs going for less, but I have no idea how they compare to those cheaper products. The price is more or less in line with the better products on the market and Auxbeam seems to have a decent reputation as a company, so I’m going to call it fair. So at the end of the day, if these bulbs have a decent longevity I’ll consider myself a fan of this company!

Hot Garbage. Don’t let the night time photos fool you.
Honestly surprising for Auxbeam, but these were substantially less bright than my half burnt out LASFIT bulbs AND my previous Beamtech bulbs. Night photos will make any LED look bright, but I couldn’t find my way out of a paper bag with these. Maybe it’s the lack of external driver, who knows.Oriented correctly (vertical), in a projector housing, they were easily half as bright my LASFIT bulbs and those have half the chips out…it’s not the projector assemblies, it’s the bulbs. I’m gonna try the LASFIT warranty and see if I can get them replaced. Auxbeam dropped the ball big time.

Not quite as bright as I hoped
They get the job done but I would spend more for more light.
