Ram must have, READ FOR TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES
Picked this up during the spring sale. Really nice upgrade for a good price. Install was fairly simple once you get all the bezels taken off the dash and old uConnect screen taken off. BoostedMotorsports on YouTube had a pretty solid install video that helped out a bunch. Not sure what model Rams have it but it appears that the yellow headed wiring is for GPS and/or SiriusXM (my model didn’t have GPS but it did have XM that I never used), the white headed wiring is your AM/FM. I saw multiple reviews talk about no AM/FM reception and I’ve yet to try and switch over to check mine (an online forum suggested a voltage issue between the antenna wire and radio adapter). The other two issues was with the climate control settings and US/metric measurements on both the unit and dash board. For the climate, don’t forget to switch the original unit to metric then follow the steps in the factory settings to show proper temps. For the US/metric measurements you’ll have to go into the car info app on the main screen and select US/imperial. One review said you’d have to upload a software update to fix that but at the time of my purchase and install that might have been taken care of on Junsun’s end. Once I selected US/imperial my dash units were correct even though all the individual metrics on the radio still had metric units. After multiple on and off’s everything is still perfect. When it comes to sound, the quality is pretty good. This unit has EQ settings I’ve never seen before. You can adjust a bunch of different Hz frequencies or use the preset ones. There isn’t much difference in the presets. The only issue I have with it is that vocals seem a bit low. When you put it in surround sound the vocal get a tad echoey so I have that setting off. The screen itself is responsive and the lag is minimal compared to the original uConnect software. The bezel frame fits perfectly with the larger bezel and is pretty seamless. All the automatic controls below the screen work perfectly.Still lots of internal features that I plan on digging into when I have the time. Not a fan of my audio pausing when I go in reverse and hoping I can change that. Also the factory back up camera may need to be upgraded, the picture quality is not the best on the larger screen. But all in all, this is a great upgrade for the old uConnect system and is a steal at this price. Anyone looking to upgrade, look no further.

If you want CarPlay this is it.
Radio works great. Sound quality is much better using the EQ settings. Screen is shinty and crisp. Response time is decent. Waze responds much faster than Apple Maps on it. Only issue with it is if you connect you phone with wireless CarPlay the radio won’t let you do anything else. So you have to leave your phone in the house to mess with the radio because no matter how many times you turn off your phones CarPlay or disconnect from the radio it just keeps automatically connecting stopping you from messing with anything else on the radio. For how much it costs though I’m very happy with it.

Better than expected upgrade for my 2016 Ram 1500
For a few years I’ve debated spending a lot more to get apple CarPlay in my truck. I am typically not a fan of getting the “budget” options for fear there will be a huge sacrifice in quality or reliability. This item was listed for 179, and had a 30 coupon. I figured for this price the risk was low enough. I watched all the video reviews on here and several on YT as well. I was concerned about some issues I saw in those reviews such as the temperature not displaying correctly. I changed the units to metric on the stock head unit before I installed this aftermarket stereo, however that didn’t help me. I ended up having to reconnect the stock unit and change it back to imperial units. The most difficult part of the installation was unclipping the volume and tuning knobs in order to move them over to the new faceplate. Other than that, the harness and cables were all self explanatory. I ended up not connecting the external microphone because it made a very bad ticking noise. The built in mic on the unit seems to be good enough. The display is of great quality, and the touch screen is very responsive even in wireless mode. My phone connects automatically, and quickly. One thing I haven’t heard anyone mention is that the steering wheel buttons Next and Previous are not reversed. I find this to be a good change although it will take some getting used to. The up button on the left side of the steering wheel used to be “next” while the down used to be “previous” I’ve always thought this seemed backwards, so this unit is improving that in my mind. During the day the display has more glare than I would like, and at night the screen is ALMOST too bright. I haven’t figured out if you can adjust the screen brightness yet. When you put the truck in reverse the music stops if you are using apple CarPlay, I haven’t found if this can be turned off yet, but it seems to be a feature and not an error. I like how there are a variety of themes for the headunit’s homescreen although I will always be using applecar play anyway. I hope to record a video demonstrating some of these things I’ve discussed, but overall I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. The benefits far outweigh the cons.

DONT DO IT!
Nope nope nope. Can't hook to BT because will make random calls on my phone. Hook it to wifi now. Still freezes up, and opens random apps, stops randomly. Ac control pop up keeps popping up randomly. VERY POORLY MADE completely freezes up when you're driving. If you're in bluetooth mode, it will take over your phone and make random calls
