PRODUCT DETAILS:The placemat is durable & well made - it's basically a flat, relatively thick, rubber-ish horizontal mat enclosed by its 4 sides/edges turned up. It's large enough to fit 2 small-medium sized bowls, with room to spare.PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:Overall, this placemat has really made our situation easier...My dog has recently developed this fantastic habit of drinking water at the VERY edge of his bowl, inevitably causing tons of water to spill over the sides & all over the floor = one big mess! Now, using the placement, whenever my little man takes a drink, the excess water spills neatly onto the mat. The enclosed edges function perfectly to prevent any water from dribbling out onto the floor. Also, the general cleaning of the mat (including sopping up any water) is extremely quick & easy.CONCLUSION:Although a bit overpriced for a glorified piece of plastic, this placement is a product I would recommend.

So, I purchased this feeding mat for underneath my raised dog bowls. The thought was that since I have a messy drinker, the mat would contain the mess. It did alright, but was not sufficient to control the amount of water that my dog can not seem to get into his mouth. Also, any water that got trapped under the mat made for a tricky situation as it could not evaporate nor get easily cleaned up without moving the dish and mat.

This mat is great. The silicon surface has heft, keeps the mess in, and it's a fantastic size. I bought three. However, its performance depends upon your floor surface. On tile or linoleum floors, I don't think you can do better -- it's brilliant!On a wood floor, small splashes of water inevitably creep underneath the mat just from everyday use. Because the mat is waterproof, the water just sits between the mat and the wood floor. I ended up putting a kitchen towel underneath the mat to absorb the water and prevent wood warp. Second, it's not transparent. I was hoping it would blend into the wood floor better, but it looks very white on the dark wood surface. I'd choose the gray color for the wood floor next time.Overall, very happy with the purchase!

I recommend buying 2 for a cat or dog One for the water and one for combination feeding of wet food bowl and dry food bowl. Cats after the age of 7 need both to avoid kidney stones. Especially, if they don't drink enough water. My cat drinks water but I still give him the wet food as a preventative measure. He is ten years old and the vet said if he didn't see the cats history cart, he would have guessed my cat was 3 yrs old. I have a Sheltie (miniature collie) and I feed him the same way and his is pushing 19 yrs. He runs around and plays just as vigorously as he did when he was a pup. I wish the made one twice as long but they don't, so buy 2. They have a small lip on the perimeter of the mat to cat food and water. They hold the fool very well and are indestructible. Every once in a while you just need to wipe the back due to dust on floor. Wipe the floor with water and dry and do the same with the back side of mat. By doing so, the mat will stick to the floor for a long time. You will know when to rinse them with warm water.

This mat keeps our two cats' food and water bowls contained and in place, which is exactly what we bought it to do. My only complaint (which I knew would happen eventually) is that the clear mat has started to turn a gross yellow color in some places. I'm dissapointed that it happened so soon, but for now the mat is still doing the job we bought it to do.

Nice mat....it's just much smaller than I thought it would be....Does not leave room for spills.....received very fast with Prime! Good service, good seller, I just should have got a measuring tape and looked how big it was going to be. I already have a black one this same size....

My favorite characteristic of the opaque white mats is that they are pleasantly unobtrusive. Although I love my pets, I prefer not to have cute doggy themes covering my kitchen floor. I also appreciate the fact that they are easily cleanable and even safe for the top rack of the dishwasher. My reason for giving only 4 stars is the size. The width is 21", which is a bit large for one bowl. Overall, though, this is a quality item and I would purchase it again.

We bought these for our pets' food. While they are exactly what I ordered, they were too big for my pets' food bowls. (They became too dominant in the space.) However, they work wonderfully under our sinks to hold cleaning supplies and catch any spills. So, while they didn't do the job that I had hoped for, they are quite heavy duty and we do like them for the job they now have.

Great mat with a little edge to keep liquid spills contained. Larger than most which is nice
