What a nice axe. I needed to sharpen it to the profile I like but that was totally expected. The handle was thick, straight grained, and substantial, very happy with that. After personalizing it and using it quite a lot it is now my favorite hand axe.

The media could not be loaded. I really need something to cut/clean my tree branches. This Axe was perfect for me to handle. It didn't take much effort to chop those pine shoots and branches. I am going to use it to clean rest of my backyard bushes and trees. So easy to use.

The hatchet arrived on time and looked good out of the box. I have only used it once since, but it cuts decently well and is still holding up. I have noticed however that the sheath button doesn't hold very well and thus is easy to accidentally lose. Other than that though, I am happy with the purchase.

Just received this today, the head had a pronounced wiggle as soon as it came out of the packaging. It shifted an easy 1/2 backwards, forwards, up and down. The fit on the handle was terrible, with huge gaps all around the bottom of the eye. Just swinging it through the air I could feel the head shift back and forth. I suspect that with any use at all the head would come sailing off.The “leather” sheath is also incredibly cheap pleather. I didn’t expect much at this price point, but we’re talking Halloween costume quality fabric here. The edge is nothing special, about what I’d expect from a mass produced axe, neither sharp nor dull.I’ll admit I took a chance here, and I didn’t expect much from an axe at this price point, but this managed to sail well below my already low expectations. I’m willing to overlook a lot of flaws, little cosmetic stuff like a low quality sheath, and things like a bad factory edge aren’t really that big a deal, but a tool that is almost guaranteed to fail the first time you really use it is a tool that should never have left the factory. The loose head is a safety issue and I will be returning this.

I had to work on it a little to get it sharp. I sanded the blade a little. In short, I made it to suit myself.Now is good wood axe. 👍

Handle broke after less than 15 minutes of splitting small 8” long pieces of cedar 2x12 for kindling. I had been using a fiberglass handled hatchet for about 15 years and I finally decided to try something new. Well after a very limited amount of swings, while filling up my kindling supply for next winter, the handle broke right where it meets the axe head. I have a replacement coming in a couple days so we’ll see how that one holds up. Other than the broken handle, which can really happen to anyone (Wood is imperfect after all), the axe head seems to be well made and is plenty sharp for what I was using it for. Fingers crossed I don’t get another bum handle.
