These are great valentines for my son’s kindergarten class. He enjoyed putting the packs together. Only down side is they don’t include an ankylosaurus wood cutout. He was bummed the cards didn’t have a dinosaur to match. Wish they had included more T-Rex cards to avoid the upset feelings.

I could hardly contain my excitement when I saw the Dinosaur Valentine’s Day Painting Sets. This is such an amazing idea!! I am all for anything that gets kids working on something other than a screen.The wood dinosaur pieces are made from maybe 2/8” birch (?), or some kind of really lightweight wood, and have the dinosaurs’ features pressed into the wood to make it easier for kids to paint them. Each set includes a small trio of acrylic paints, and they include more than just the same 3 colors. I believe there are 3 or 4 sets of trios of paint, ranging from earthy colors to brighter pinks and blues. Plus, each kit comes with the cutest small paintbrush.Given the type of wood, it is a bit porous and therefore has a tendency to soak up some of the paint. If the paint doesn’t appear as bold or vibrant as it should, adding a second layer will do the trick.I adore and appreciate the thought that went into creating these creative, crafty painting kits for the kids. Definitely something that will last longer than a piece of candy.

These were so cute and very well liked by the kids. Unfortunately one came not cut correctly and broken. Luckily I only needed 23 of them so the defective one didn’t matter, but if I’d needed all of them I wouldn’t have had enough. Would definitely buy again, but I would order early to make sure you can check that none are defective.

These are super cute and I think they are the perfect class valentine for preschool age kids. However, one of the cards is written incorrectly - "You are a dino-mite my friend!" The kids won't notice, but as an adult, it was a bummer.

Great for Valentine's Day give-outs, party bags, or class crafts!My 4 yr old son looooooves painting AND dinosaurs, so these were a perfect choice for him to hand out to his classmates.The dinos are natural wood, so there is some natural variation in the wood grain, but all of them are still fine and paintable. The details are all well done on each even if some are a bit darker or lighter than others. The paint brushes are so mini and cute, and feel like good quality. The cellophane bags also feel well made, and have a sticky strip for closing them.Only downside is that the little paint pots are made of a super soft and flexible plastic, which makes them difficult to open. Despite the little tab, you cannot just flick them open with thumb (you have to hold the whole strip tight and drag your thumb up the cup while squeezing firmly, if that makes sense). Young children WILL need help, so if it's an in class project, it might be a good idea to have a couple grown-up volunteers to make quicker work of getting them all open, or at least have some kids share. I have other paint cup strips like this, and I use a pair of needle nose pliers to open them quickly and easily. In our case, they'll be going home with the kids and then their own families can help.

These Valentine’s Day painting kits are perfect gifts for school age children. I always try to find non-candy gifts for classroom gift exchanges. These kits are awesome. The cards are well made and the brush and paint are good quality. I love that it all fits in the included cello bags that can be sealed. We are super happy with how these turned out. I highly recommend these!
