I had an unusual need. I wanted to use software on several different computers and wanted the data files to move with the software (in a non-networked environment). I have been using a USB flash drive for this purpose for several years. Flash storage would get slower and slower as the thumb drive was used. It also slowed the software down due to the transfer speed of the thumb drives. I then purchased this external SSD what was USB 3 connected and installed the software and data drives. What an amazing difference this made. The higher transfer speeds were immediately obvious and pleased me greatly. This SSD was well made, felt solid, had good quality cable, and was a convenient size. The SSD has a female USB-C interface. A patch cable (good quality) was supplied with a male USB-C on one end and a regular USB-A on the other. A connector to convert USB-A to USB=C was also supplied. I am running this on Windows 10 where it installed immediately without issue. This SSD appears as another disk drive to my system. When I was done using the Flash drive, I would right-click and select EJECT before removing the thumb drive. With this SSD, no EJECT appears when I right-click the drive icon in Windows Explorer. However, I found an EJECT in the task bar from Windows 10 that worked just fine. My one suggestion would be have documentation with the SSD that talks about how to safely remove it from your system. This was an excellent purchase, a tremendous value for the money, and I would certainly buy this again.

Very fast for a thumb drive, with speeds that are as-advertised. Heavier than your typical drive and I wish they sold a version without the USB-A connector just so it would be smaller. Nice metal body and feels like a quality piece. Price for what you get is very reasonable...and did I mention it is fast? I don't understand why anyone buys the other SSD that can be selected here, the TP1 with a cord. Half the speed, bigger, and costs about the same. The mini drive is the better deal.

Had this drive for 18 months now. If you plug it into an old USB port, don't expect advertised speeds. However, if it is plugged into a modern computer with a modern standard, I've seen 900MB a second transfer rates. Note: sometimes, during long transfers, the drive slows to basically nothing for thirty or so seconds before starting up again. Probably clearing the cache or something. Very durable metal case. EDIT: The cap for the USB-C connector warped and came off, and there is now no way to protect that from pocket lint etc. Removing 1 star. I LOVE this drive!

I am very happy with my purchase of the Timetec 1TB Portable External SSD. The item has an aluminum body and appears to be very sturdy. It is compact and easy to use. I bought it as a back up external hard drive to store important files on. The delivery was fast and without any issues. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Ridiculous! The item received was not new, and it is not in new condition! It has clearly used by someone else and this is being re-sold as new when it isn't. The packaging bottom tape was re-sealed, the first clue that someone used it before me. The proof it's already been used is it has been powered on 8 times according to CrystalDiskInfo. It has a 'System Volume Information' folder on it which was created by somebody elses Windows OS dated 05-14-2024, however I just received it on 08-07-2024 at 8:30AM. The see through plastic window is scratched and scuffed, and the metal body housing has an obvious spot where the finish is worn off like the drive was smacked against something hard. This was my first ever TimeTec purchase and I'm not impressed one bit due to the condition of the SSD drive! I'll be returning this as it's not worth the $28.99 I paid with the condition it's in, and I won't bother with a replacement, and I will instead buy an SSD stick drive from a different brand where I actually do get NEW products sent rather than being sold someone else's already used item that has very obvious wear and tear on it.

this drive is outstanding. its small, light, quiet, fast and 2TB. I am using it as a backup drive but I may purchase a second one for travel. highly recommend this item. 9/11/23 UPDATE- The drive stopped working last week. I have changed the cord, tried other laptops but no luck. I contacted Timetec last week to request assistance but I have not heard back. I will report back on any progress. 9/30/23 update- I contacted Timetec customer service about the issue. They sent a prepaid label to return the drive. A replacement was sent after the return was received. I’m back to work with this drive. Customer service is pretty good. Very prompt and clear replies.

J'en avais marre de payer une option tv chez mon opérateur alors que je ne l'utilise pas, mais je voulais encore pouvoir enregistrer les chaînes de la tnt, ayant un double tuner tnt avec fonction enregistreur, il me manquait juste un bon stockage, petit, rapide et de bonne capacité pour les programmes de mon épouse et de mes enfants (qui m'auraient étranglé si je retirais l'option tv sans pouvoir enregistrer the voice, kho-lanta ou plus belle la vie... 🤣🤣🤣) avec ce petit disque en très bonne qualité TNT HD il y a de quoi enregistrer près de 300h 🤣🤣🤣, lorsque vous regardez l'enregistrement vous avez l'impression de regarder la qualité originale de diffusion. Ça nous a fait faire de sacrée économie sans perte de confort. J'avais déjà testé son petit frère de 256Go qui m'avait et m'offre toujours sur un autre usage autant de satisfaction.

Disk stopped being recognized after one use. I can't even format it. Disappointing quality.

I really like this drive. While it's slightly bigger than a traditional USB Flash drive, the capacity and speed make up for it. I think it's cool you can see the hardware inside, and very handy to have both USB-C and USB-A options built-in with no separate adapter required (which would certainly get misplaced).
