Pretty good inexpensive sharpener
I recently was dogsitting at a relative's house and there was one knife that I was going to have to use. So I figured what the heck, let me try this guy out.Using it is fairly easy. Just slap the knife against the magnet at the correct angle and run the barrel up and down carefully, first on the coarse side and then the fine end.I have to admit that I did not do it for 10 minutes or anything like that. I would say maybe about 20 times back and forth on each side. And the for the price, this did a fine job. As a matter of fact, when they came back, even though I did not say anything, they asked if I had sharpened the knife because they noticed it was cutting well again.I only have two question marks. One is how long the ends will last. Secondly, not sure if I was holding it incorrectly, but one time it unscrewed on me. That was a little concerning. But overall, considering the price, and nice little sharpener that is pretty easy to use.

easy and effective
This sharpener tool is pretty clever in its simplicity and it actually works well. The two angles are easy to use and the whole thing packs up tidy. I took some older knives I don’t care too much about to test it out and it made them sharper than they’ve been in years. After getting that confidence, I tried the sharpener on a couple of frequently used kitchen knives and again, it easily and quickly improved the cut.Only complaint is that the size limits what can work well with this tool. Taller knives, think cleavers, wouldn’t be doable on a single flat countertop the same way a standard chef knife would.

Poor Quality, Not Impressed…
Upon receiving this Metro Bite Professional Rolling Knife Sharpening Kit, I attempted to sharpen a knife with it. The first thing I noticed was that one of the Diamond Sharpening/Grinding Discs had a spot that was missing the grinding material. In my opinion, this is just not acceptable in a new product as there should be some quality control measures to inspect their product before it leaves the factory. I guess I would not think of this as a “Professional” sharpening kit as is shown in the title of this listing. Next I proceeded with my first attempt to sharpen a knife but the blade was too small to work with this unit. The unit looks nice but is not as functional as I was hoping for. Overall, if I had the opportunity to do it again, I would not order this item and would look for something better. I hope this helps you during your shopping experience!

Easy To Use and Does a Good Job
The instructions are not great - there are only drawings with 180° as the only text - but it's fairly easy to figure out what you need to do. You pick the angle you want for your knife blade, let the magnet on that side of the rectangular block grab hold of your knife (with the blade pointing up), figure out which side of the rolling wheel you want to use (one end is coarser than the other), then push that end against your knife and roll it back and forth as many times as you feel necessary. Flip the knife over so the other side of the blade is stuck to the magnet (facing up) then roll it back and forth again. There's nothing in the instructions about the leather strop, but you use that after sharpening the blade by dragging the blade back and forth along it to smooth out any burrs. It's simple enough to use once you get it figured out, but the instructions are really poor. There's nothing that explains why you should choose one angle over another, there's nothing to tell you how often you should run that roller back and forth, nothing that explains that one end of the roller is coarser than another and how to choose which one to use, and nothing that explains the leather strop. Most of that information is one the web page for this set, but IMO should have also been included in the instructions that come with the set.

Very easy to use. Feels very well made.
This sharpener is pretty cool. It's very easy to use. It definitely locks your knife into a specific angle. It certainly makes sharpening easier. It feels very well made. You have two angles and two different grit options. I can't say for sure that it is sharpening the knives I've used it on, because they were already very sharp. I can say it hasn't made them worse. I can't see any reason it isn't working the way it should. I'm happy and give it 5 stars.

Works great-ish on chef's knives, not so much on anything smaller
I have tried this on a variety of knives, and the only ones that it's really convenient to use on are full size 6-10" chef's knives and santoku. Anything smaller is really tough to get set up and hold in place on the magnet block.

Super easy to use
This sharpener is really easy to use and does a good job creating a sharp edge in just a few easy steps. The only downside is the barrel is rather small, so it is not a great choice for blades that are over 2 inches in width. I would say this is really only functional for smaller knives.
