I decided to get a shower grab bar for my bathtub after I was getting out and had a slight side slip which internally bruised my ribs a bit. Not bad-bad; but enough to say "ouch" and "wow" that happened faster than I could avoid it.I've used this 'Jumbo TIGER shower Grab Bar for Bathtubs and Showers' along with a suction-cup tub mat (purchased separately) help keep my bathtub experience stable and secure. The tub/shower bar is made from hard plastic with extremely strong suction cups that are locked into place when in use. The suction cup levers to seal it into place are somewhat hard to push down if one's hands are impaired with arthritic or carpal tunnel pain. Have a strong handed person do that for you if you fit that category. But, once it is done and sealed onto the bathtub it does not budge, and the instructions claim that this is good for about a week once installed or applied to the bathtub or shower surface. After I applied it and then took it off the tub by releasing the levers, one of the suction cups still stayed tightly on the tub surface-that's a strong grip and I had to ease it off. There is also a safety feature on the levers that shows if it is not securely attached.The grab bar handle is so solid and concrete feeling when holding onto upon exiting the bath. Excellent safety product.
