Have ordered this item twice. The first one to arrive was perfect, had no issues sticking to pipes and was in good condition. The second roll was not in such good condition and had lost it's stickiness! I had to wrap the insulation around the pipe and then cover with a waterproof PV tape to get this to work! I think the second roll had been on the shelf for a while and should have been binned and not sent to a customer. Verry poor QA, won't order from this supplier again!

Compared to traditional foam piping installation, this isn't quite as simple to fit for a simple straight piece of pipe, but I do think it provides a better option for more complex applications such as bend pipes, or around taps for example. There is quite a generous amount on the roll, and whilst a little fiddly initially, you seem get the hang of how to wrap it. I think it's probably best to use it with a little bit of overwrap on a spiral, but in tricky areas, it's equally possible to slice it up into small pieces and wrap it vertically along the length of the pipe as well. All round a good option, pretty sensibly priced and I am happy to recommend it :-)

I was pleased to try this '5Mx8CM Pipe Wrap Insulation Tape - Foam Adhesive Wrap Cover for Outdoor Indoor Cold Hot Water Pipes, Winter Freeze Protection, Reduce Heat Loss'. I wanted this pipe lagging to protect my boiler discharge pipe from frosts. It is on the outside of the house and if it is very frosty the water inside freezes, causing a blockage. That means that the boiler can no longer discharge its collected water and flashes an error message. There have been times that I have had to defrost with a hairdryer. I have wrapped one layer around tightly and can possibly go over with another layer if that is not quite adequate. Although, I think that it will be fine like it is. It is wider than I had assumed - 8cm, the length of the roll is 5 metres and the depth/thickness is about 1 cm. A good amount to also lag other pipes. You just peel the backing paper off, wrap right around your pipe to adhere then go around and around overlapping evenly. The foam is ribbed, smooth, black and squishy with the adhesive being nice and strong. The job looks neat and gives a really good thickness of protection. The current price of £17.99 is fair, in my opinion, for the quality and amount you get.
