NOT as good as the one with a round knob/dial. I was very disappointed ☹️
I'm NOT getting paid for this review and not getting compensated in any form or fashion.I love AC Infinity company, their customer service is second to none and they have top quality growing supplies. I was excited when I found out that a digital version of the heating mat is coming out which I thought would be more convenient and I wouldn't have to use a thermometer/hygrometer to put inside the dome to monitor temperature and humidity to have proper germination and/or cloning rooting success rates but when I received it I was quickly disappointed because first of all for those in colder climates will have issues getting temperature to 80° or above 80° because for some reason even when I set the temperature to get to 110° it takes quite a while to climb to 102° but when I check the temperature with a couple of separate thermometers It shows that the temperature is around 74 to 76° and in order to get it to climb up I would have to put something under the heating mat like a piece of plywood or styrofoam and I add one of the Amazon bubble envelopes too avoid losing any of the heat radiating down to the floor and that definitely helps but if someone needs higher temperatures like 84° for instance I don't think they will be able to achieve that with this heating mat. For the most part the temperature that's needed for my plants for germination is 78 to 80° which is the sweet spot and to get there I have to set the temperature to 102° and it fluctuates between 100 and 102°, which actually keeps the temperature at 78 to 80° F with a piece of plywood under the heating mat and a couple Amazon bubble envelopes stacked on top of each other. The one that I would recommend is the same one but with the dial/knob which works flawlessly and I would need to have the temperature either in the middle or between the first quarter and the middle. Just make sure you use a thermometer/hygrometer inside the dome to dial in temperature and humidity. Here's the hygrometer / thermometer set of four that I highly recommend and they have two options either without a probe or with the probe. The ones with the probe you can only measure the temperature with the probe but to measure temperature and humidity you would need to unplug the probe and put the device itself inside the dome but if you never need to check only temperature then get the ones without the probe because it's a little cheaper and you won't have that probe port open that can get dirty and something can get stuck in there. These are a lot more reliable than those really cheap ones, the black rectangular ones. Thermostatic performance and accurcy is good
These work very well. I tested the several I bought against each other for thermostatic accuracy - they all worked identically. I will be buying more this fall. They cut-in and cut-out at between 1 and 2 degree variable - pretty good for germinating.Tip: to conserve energy, I use these on a wire rack system, and lay bath towels across the wire, placing the pads on top, and the trays on top of the pads.

Fast Germination.
Tested this heating pad on my channel to germinate seeds. It does help in germinating. I wouldnt say so much in success rate but i can verify with proof that it does help germination speed.

Great for keeping sourdough starter warm enough!!!
Haven't tried it for seeds yet. I use this for bread making - keeping my sourdough starter alive and moving and bulk fermentation stage for bread.

Outstanding experience!
I ordered 2 of these seedling heating mats from Amazon. Neither of them appeared to be radiating the slightest bit of heat; even when turned all the way up. Another customer contacted me about the same issue. But when I reached out to AC INFINITY, they contacted me back promptly, and made the situation right, on the spot. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Truly grateful.

Nope — Completely Unreliable Temperature Setting
The temperature set is not the temperature you will get. The pad is so wimpy that if set for 95° you might get close to 70° in a seed starting pot. The sensor setting very quickly rises to the set temperature setting, but there's no correlation with the actual temperature. At 95°, the pad should feel quite warm, it doesn't. (Not that you'd want to start your seeds at that temperature. 95° was just set as a test.)

Using for Sourdough starter AND Seed starter
Very versatile. I use it for both starting my seeds prior to planting as well as a mat to put my sourdough starter on.
