Build your own anime
I love this game. I love Anime, I admit I was a little left behind and do not know all of the character in the game, but being able to use my favorite characters is awesome. The deciding factor in buying this game for me was I could use Kenshin in the game. It did throw me a bit (to the point where I was about to throw the controller at the screen), when I found out I could not choose him from the beginning. However it is very easy to earn game point to "buy" characters. Meaning you do not need to spent real money on characters and you do not have to play 100's of online matches to earn fighter points (Street Fighter V). The graphics and special moves are awesome, right movies. The victory road are great adventures throwing all these characters and story lines just seem to mix brilliantly. The only thing I do not like about this game is the split screen in the 2 player mode. However as a one player game I Iove it.

Most unique fighting game with great characters, but...
This is a very good game. I have to say it's one of my favourite fighting games ever purely because of the vast amount of different characters you can get from so many different animes. Great combos and excellent graphics. However it does have it's fair share of faults. The most major issue being is the online multiplayer. There's no option that let's you take off the support characters online and just make it 1 on 1 which really ruins the game for me because it's an excellent game to play online with friends but support characters ruins the fight. Also the character bars and action gauge bar takes way too much of the screen and makes the actual combat screen small. But overall a great buy and good collection.Pro's* vast amount of character selection.* detailed graphics* unique and large amount of combo'sCon's* poor online multiplayer with no option to take off sub support characters* missing characters from some major anime. Not a single character from fairy tail which is sad.* the action bars and health bars takes too much space on the screen. Especially when you are playing offline multiplayer, it's split screen so it becomes even smaller. Even if you use a 30" TV like I do, you will only end up getting about 12" of that space for ur characters after the split screen and the space the bars take.Still highly recommended.

An Anime Essential
At the start of playing this game I was only interested in three of the many animes featured in this game (Naruto, One Piece and Bleach) in playing through this game I fell in love with characters from all series, the game gives such an accurate representation of the characters and there personalities, don't let that fool you though, you don't need weeks of training to master a Rasen-Shuriken, the games simple-yet-fun gameplay and controls means any player can master and be proud of a huge combo with pretty much any character allowing players to find newfound respect for characters known and unknown, overall I would recommend this to any anime or fighting game fan, a definite 5 star fighting game for me, now Bandai-Namco just need to hurry up with Naruto: Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, roll on September

Perfect for anime fans, not so much for fighting fans.
This game perfectly captures the over the top, witty nature of shonen manga. The fighting mechanics are actually quite solid although not without its kinks since characters are immune from damage for far too long after being knocked down, meaning combos can be be short lived. The gameplay is fun, and graphics are vibrant but if you're buying this purely as a fighting game fan you may be disappointed. Only fans of shonen manga and anime should really consider this game. The adventure mode took me by surprise with it's length and concept, requiring players to sail around from island to island engaging in battles, and completing 'quests' although these quests are 95% of the time settled with a customary battle with no challenges and special requirements in place. It's biggest flaw is that it doesn't fully take advantage of the diverse characters on show, controls are the same for each character with the only minor difference being stamina bars. Some characters can trigger huge boosts in stamina eg. Luffy allowing him to buff his own moveset and deal a lot of damage within a short space of time, and Goku who can charge up his energy, allowing for a more sustained approach. I would definitely liked to see more varied control schemes between characters but overall I still had a fantastic time pitting my favourite heroes and villains against each other.Thank you for reading and I hope this helps!

A must for anime fan
At it's core it's a good fighting game with decent mechanics, the controls are simple enough, with each character having a weak and strong attack, along with 3 specials. The specials are what really differentiate the characters, making sure they're not all the same but with a different skin. The tutorial at the beginning of the game is good.A large roster of characters (52 I think) makes the game have more play value. One thing that annoys me is that it doesn't have 1v1 online, there is always a COM second player on your team which can sometimes lose you the match.
