not ideal for soldering
I bought this with plans to hack an old 1930s wall-mount phone into my iphone jack, but the terminals inside this connector are so small it's virtually impossible to solder any wires onto it. I'm not sure how it's intended to be used. I've uploaded a photo of the inside of the plug so people can see what they're getting themselves into.

New connector
My bose headsets had a short and I ordered two of these to replace the end. I am new to soldering and the first one I tested with didn't go so well. The second go worked out. I still wasn't able to get all functionality out of the headphones but that is my fault with the soldering not the product. I was able to connect both headphones so I can head out of them again.Still better than purchasing brand new 100+ headphones.

Contacts are too small
I would love this connector to have worked for what I was doing. I was planning to make a headphone cable to replace the coiled cable that came with my headphones. I wanted to put an inline button on the cable so that I could use it with my phone (play/pause, answer call, etc). The problem is that the contacts are FAR to small for me to solder. I consider myself to be competent with a soldering iron so unless you are very advanced and have tools that have a fine enough point for these small connectors, don't waste your money.

Way better than expected
So I just picked this connector up, and wow was I surprised with the quality! Great part and well built. I'll be getting more of these in the future.
