AL13 DE Safety Razor Copper

I never used a single blade razer before and was disappointed with the result initially due to the supplied blades that come with the razer. After purchasing a different brand of blades the result was significantly better. However on the curves of the chin and neck it is not as close a shave versus cartridge shavers.

As a long-time cartridge user (Fusion 5-blade swivel, tilt) I researched a lot before transitioning to a DE razor. If you value design and craftsmanship then the Henson is miles above the rest. All aluminum construction with no plastic in sight. The finish is anodized aluminum which increases hardness and is long lasting. No chance of flaking. The handle is lightweight and knurled for a sharp grip. There is no rubber coating so the handle gives a tactile control. The head is precision machined an fits the blades tightly. The blades are easy to change in seconds. It takes standard sized blades so you can use your existing blades, use the included blades (which are not too bad) or get blades wherever you travel. Of course you can try different blades to find the perfect shave for you. The innovative design is different than all other razors because there is a very specific angle machined into the head which is the perfect angle to the blade. You can practice without a blade at first but you will get the hang of it soon enough. The razor is easy to maneuver and the head size gives good visibility. The channel below the blade makes rinsing easy and there is no clogging like the multi-blades do often. The bottom of the handle is rounded so its not designed to stand upright whick can damage the razor is it falls over which is also dangerous. I am still experimenting with different creams and blades but so far the Henson is giving me a great close shave right out of the box. The packaging is recyclable cardstock with the instructions printed on the box to reduce paper. The blades are recyclable and this razor will last decades, so its all good for the environment. If you don't want to give money to large corporations who get their stuff made overseas then this purchase will make you feel good. Its designed, manufactured and packaged in Canada by guys who own an aerospace machine shop. It more expensive but you can feel the value and it will save me hundreds of dollars over the years. A small price to pay for something you use everyday.

購入して１年以上経ちますが、継続して使用しています。 まず、私は肌がとても弱い（そのくせにヒゲは濃い）ため、五枚刃のカミソリや、電動シェーバーを長らく使用していたので、一枚刃のカミソリの使用は本商品が初めてでした。 【初めて使用したとき】 それはそれは大量に出血しました。剃り方の問題もあったと思いますが、慣れていない方は十分に気をつけてください。 【慣れてきたころ〜現在】 何度も往復せずとも、少ない回数で剃ることができています。ビジネスホテル等のアメニティであるような一枚刃カミソリとは比べ物にならないくらい、よく剃れます。 替刃は安物のものを使用していますが、購入時に付属している替刃と遜色なく剃れています。 ただ、力加減（角度もあるのかな？）をミスるとすぐに出血してしまうので、肌が弱い人全員おすすめはできないかもしれません。 【使用頻度】 （私の場合）毎日剃るのは肌に負担がかかり、MILDモデルでも二日連続で剃ると出血するので、中一日くらいの間隔で剃っています。 【お手入れについて】 簡単に分解できるので、 水洗い→部品ごとに乾燥させる→組立 を毎回使用後にしています。 総合して、満足はできていますが、肌が弱い人は慎重に検討すべきかと思います。

Seriously how can you not love the Henson a13 mild? This thing is so well designed. the impact it has on the double-edged shaving market is a bit of an earthquake. At least for people with sensitive skin and people transitioning from cartridges who haven't developed the right shaving technique for the more old school style double edge razors. The razors designed by a company that normally makes parts for satellites. So their engineering is impeccable. I will say that people with coarse hair or very thick hair may want to try the more aggressive version like the Medium or the Aggressive. But I feel like a lot of that can be considered blade dependent. One of the challenges of getting a great shave I mean great with a capital G, is the ability to reduce or get rid of razor burning irritation entirely. This is a complex subject requiring a lot of components but I'll say that this is at the core The Henson a13. The only issue for users is you may have a tendency to press too hard into your skin cuz you're used to doing that from a cartridge razor and this is aluminum so it's lightweight. As long as you remember not to press into your skin the sky is the limit on the quality of Shaving experience you'll have and you'll enjoy it more.

Big improvement over my Merkur. Lighter than I expected but still feels nice in the hand. Wide grooves allow for easy cleaning. Blade angle is perfect, and blades are clamped close to the edge which seems to reduce flexing.
