Q: What reel do you suggest (inexpensive). What type spinning or level-wind reel?

Spinning reel, can be $20.00 cheaper type as you are just catching bait fish up to 6" most of the time. If you plan on going deeper for reef fish bait you may want a little better reel with a little better drag. Hope that helps

No. Must be a bait cast reel. Something small and cheap works best. Hope hat helps.

Q: What's the best way to feed line through this Rod? I have a heck of a time to setup the rod.

Same issue here. I took it apart then tied a paper clip to the line and fed in from the reel side. From there I removed the paper clip and put on a small split shot letting gravity get the line through the rest of the rod that has a much wider diameter. Put the paper clip in your tackle box so you can do this again if needed while out on the water.
