Pretty good so far. has some flaws, but worth the money!
After seeing some of the comments at first about Amazon supplying unsealed, non-UK phones in past reviews, I was a little concerned about purchasing this phone from Amazon, but I'm so glad I did. I can confirm that my phone was the UK version (with documents and charger intact), and that the box was sealed on delivery. I've been using the phone for over a month now, so I wanted to provide an update to this review. I originally returned a Sony Xperia Z1 back to amazon (due to some very poor faults), and purchased the LG G3 as a replacement. The LG G3 looked better than the Sony Xperia Z1 on paper, and was only priced at £300, making it seem like an absolute bargain. Unlike some recent phones like the Sony Xperia Z3 or the HTC One M8, the LG G3's casing isn't really anything special to boast about as far as material and feel is concerned. The case does look gorgeous with its metallic design, but it is only plastic. The back cover does allow the device to charge wirelessly however, as the inside of the cover does have some metal pins/plates attached. If you do want to take advantage of the wireless charging, you can purchase an official LG wireless charger. The back cover is also removable, so not only can you change it for another LG case (such as the LG QuickCircle wireless charging case), but you can access the 3000mAh removable battery, the Micro SD slot and the micro SIM slot. The power button and volume buttons are on the back of the phone, towards the top centre of the phone. Now this is a pretty unusual design, but it is surprisingly a lot more comfortable to use than other large phones such as the Sony Xperia Z1 (which had the power button placed on the right side of the phone frame). The positioning of the buttons are perfect, and it makes using the phone in one hand just that little bit easier, whether you're right or left handed. The 35mm jack and micro USB port is located on the bottom of the phone, but neither of them are covered up like on some of the other recent smartphones. As a result, that does mean that this phone is not water resistant, which depending on your usage, may not be that big of an issue. Now some may find that the battery doesn't need to be removable, but considering that the battery was a major problem in the Sony Xperia Z1 for me (and it is a built-in one, meaning it couldn't simply be removed and replaced), I personally think that it is a major positive. At least if the battery fails, you can simply purchase a new one and replace it without having to go through the whole warranty process, and it won't have a negative impact on the phone. The battery life itself has been a little disappointing. It certainly isn't the worst phone for battery life out there, but it's not great either. In standby mode, the battery drain is slower than the Sony Xperia Z1, which is a positive. But when using the phone, the battery can drain very quickly. 2-3 hours seems to be the standard on-screen time for the LG G3, and that can be with the majority of the settings turned off, and with the screen right down to 0%! But for the price, it's kind of expected that something like this may occur. And it is possible to get around this by purchasing an external battery pack for use while your out, so it can be easily overlooked in some cases. Even though the LG will come with Android 4.4 installed, LG are now sending out Android 5.0 updates, which should be accessible by now. The new OS update certainly works better than the original OS that came with the phone, however, some people have been reporting issues with the LG G3 since the update. If you do have any issues after updating, it may be worth performing a factory reset (which you can find more about with a quick search on google). Although if you do, make sure that you back up any data that's on your phone that you want to keep, as the reset wipes the data on the device. The general performance of the phone is good. It's pretty quick on the internet, and the apps work well too. But it does suffer from lag at times, which is easy to notice in menus and in the recent apps menu. It is possible with just a couple of changes in the settings and the removal of some widgets, to improve the performance on the phone. The only area of the phone where performance needs to improve would be with the QuickCircle menu. The case and the QuickCircle functionality is good, but even after numerous updates, trying to access some of the apps like call logs or messages from the QuickCircle menu doesn't always work as smoothly as it should. However, LG definitely deserves the applause for the QuickCircle case/functionality. Even with its issues, it is an excellent feature, allowing the use of basic features on the phone like making a call or reading a new text message without having to open the QuickCircle case up and unlock the phone. The QuadHD screen is pretty impressive too. While there has been a few instances where the colour quality hasn't been great in some circumstances, the picture quality is pretty sharp and amazing. LG really have created an amazing screen. Now some have questioned whether the QuadHD screen is the reason for poor battery life, but the Sony Xperia Z1 had the same issue, and the screen would have taken less power. It's more likely that the software itself is the reason for battery drain, as some have used the phone with a custom launcher, and have gotten double the on-screen time. The KnockOn and KnockCode functionality works pretty well too. KnockOn basically allows the user to double tap the screen to get the phone out of standby mode, while KnockCode allows the user to tap on four different areas of the screen in a certain sequence to unlock the phone. It's does have it's moments where it won't work as well, but it is so convenient. I tapped my Windows tablet screen earlier on at one point trying to get it out of standby mode because I do it so often with the phone. (It took me longer than it should have to figure out why the tablet wasn't working...) The camera has actually surprised me on the LG G3. Compared to the Sony Xperia Z1, the camera on this phone has been producing much better, sharper and clearer images. The laser focus and the flash both work very well, and the phone shoots incredibly well in night/low-light scenes. With shots like sunsets/sunrises, or even just normal landscape shots or indoor/panormaic shots, the LG G3 has been performing consistently. The only issue with the camera is the zoom. Just like the Sony Xperia Z1, when you zoom in, you lose a large amount of detail, so don't expect to get a clear picture if you try zooming in to the object you want to shoot. The front-facing camera is pretty impressive too. When using the LG Camera app, you can have the camera smooth out any flaws before you even press the shutter. Absolutely perfect for those who can't resist taking selfies. And even when taking photos in apps like Snapchat, the detail still looks great. As well as the Google Play store, the LG G3 features the LG SmartWorld app store. Now usually, these sort of app stores are pointless in comparison to Google Play. However, I strongly recommend that you take a look at it if you plan on using the QuickCircle functions. There are apps on the SmartWorld store that add more apps to the QuickCircle, such as QuickTorch. So far, at the current price, I would happily recommend this phone to those looking into purchasing a new phone. The LG G3 really is a brilliant phone, without all the gimmicks like "waterproof", "dustproof", "heart-rate monitor", which can be seen in the price. I usually wouldn't say this, but when you consider the price of the phone and the brilliant specification of this phone, as well as the additional cost of getting a good battery pack, it would actually be more worthwhile to get this phone. I personally am happy to live with that one battery issue and spend just that little extra on getting an external battery to improve it. It really is worth getting and experiencing. P.S. These are the 2 accessories that I use with my LG G3. While the case is personal preference, I would strongly recommend that you purchase the battery pack due to the nature of the battery consumption in the LG G3. LG G3 UK Sim-Free review
Excellent Mobile Phone. Having owned it for just over a week - I have to say I am so happy I purchased it. Although, the mobile can seem very large - it sits in the hand so well and comfortably. It does help when the bezel around the phone is minimal. I have been trying various mobiles out for size in the retail shops but, whereas other manufacturers (of similar spec. mobiles) opt for a slightly smaller screen and different case materials. The size of the actual devices do not differ to this LG G3. What sets this apart it, is that the touch and feel is great. LG have done a great job here. It's also a benefit that the Android System is minimalist and allows the owner to customise to their hearts content. Battery life, especially after a recent Software Upgrade (I think or it may be because, I downloaded a Virus/Security App) - has been very impressive. Considering, that I've used the Internet (not excessive, usually Play Store and Web Browsing), left the screen on a few times for long periods and general phone usage (calls, texting, etc.). The past week, I have only had to charge the phone once after the initial charge. I am impressed. Only time will tell, how well the battery performs over prolonged use. Although, viewing text messages first time when using the phone can seem quite slow. Once, you're in - it tends to speed up. Response in general is excellent. Having the quad processor allows many tasks to be available and run in the background. Good multi tasking. Oh, if you've not used or owned an LG G2 or LG G3 before, it may seem so different to have the power and volume buttons on the back. But, to my surprise, it doesn't take long to become familiar with this. In fact, it can become natural. Especially, that LG have cleverly shaped each button differently so you know what you're pressing. For example, I had it in my pocket and was listening to FM Radio. I was able to adjust the volume without taking the device out of my pocket. So far, this mobile has met my high expectations and reflects what other users and reviews have said (including winning numerous awards). Truly a remarkable mobile phone, which rightly stands next to it's competitors confidently and proudly. Then, walks past them knowing full well it is the total package and once people test it out, they tend to agree.

AVOID SELLER 'GoodDeal4U' AT ALL COSTS
Seller - 0/5 This phone was advertised as UK phone, however after checking the IMEI number with LG themselves the have confirmed I was sent a South East Asian version of the phone. At the time I bought the phone it would not connect to 4G networks because of this and was often restarting itself. I messaged seller requesting a return however this was denied. I therefore messaged Amazon also, as the sale was backed by their 'A - Z guarantee' however they said I wasn't able to return the phone, despite it being not as described. I will now be going to Trading Standards as this phone was sold not as described which violates the Sales of Goods act. The seller all the while has been almost completely unresponsive and keeps saying they are only responsible for Manufacturer repairs for one year, which is completely irrelevant. I am disappointed with both the seller and Amazon in this case. Phone - 4/5 I really do like the phone, especially the 4K screen which is bright and vivid. The performance is brilliant running very demanding apps with ease. I love the camera also, which takes stunning pictures and is capable of 4K video. The little features of this phone are what I like most about this phone, such as the IR blaster, the QI charging capability and the buttons being on the back. Whilst the phone has had a few problems, most have been solved with updates. I also had to buy a new battery as the previous one stopped holding charge, however LG sent this out to me free of charge so I cannot complain there. Overall, I would recommend you to avoid the seller 'GoodDeal4U' as I doubt they've ever heard of the term customer service, I am also disappointed with Amazon's response, but I really like the phone which is capable and fun to own.

Great phone. Excellent for the price, would definitely recommend LG from this experience!!
Ordered this as a replacement for my old Nexus 5, which broke while on holiday. For the price I got it for £299, its an excellent buy. This is the UK version so no 3GB ram, but after looking at performance stats on various reviews people have done, the difference isn't a lot. Lets face it, you wont notice the difference through general phone like use. The QHD screen is amazing, very clear and crisp when looking at photos or videos. Even though the screen size might put people off, it virtually doesn't have a bezel on the sides, so its still small enough to fit into normal pocket with ease.. The camera is excellent, with the 13 mega pixel camera, great for everyday use! The Android Lollipop system works as you would expect from a high end device, with a mid range price. The LG overlay is good with many options and features to tweak your experience. The IR sensor is great for using your phone as a remote control, as it can control everything from one app that comes with the phone! Overall a very nicely designed phone with a textured back cover, feeling strong in your hands. For the price its excellent, why spend 400 500 quid, when this will do work very well. Paid £299 at the time of buying. Hope this review helps you all :)

Great in some aspects, horrible in others
LG Electronics G3 4G Smartphone 16 GB (UK SIM-Free, Android, 5.5 inch) - Black Having owned the phone for a year, I feel I can confidently give this feedback Pros - Fantastic screen, great quality, bright and colourful. I haven't yet come across a phone that can make video look as good as the LG G3 - Still damn fast for all tasks. No real noticeable degradation of performance - Great design aesthetically Cons - HOT. Gets very hot as soon as multiple apps or anything intensive runs on it. After running GTA San Andreas for 5 minutes, the power button on the back was red hot and had to close the app because the potential risk of further problems. - Battery. I'm very careful with how I charge phones and do everything I can to maximise their lifespan, however, from the start the phone struggled to get a days light use. One year later, an hour of facebook/web browsing will result in 50% use, be prepared to buy replacement batteries/chargers. All in all its a decent phone, but for the price (even now), I would say to stick with the cheaper options out there. Phone technology has progressed a lot and especially in the budget ranges, and the LG G3 has some critical issues that just aren't worth spending the extra cash for. [EDIT] As of March 2017, my phone bricked after roughly a year and a half of use, presumably due to overheating issues as mentioned above. Particularly in 2017, there are better options for cheaper that will provide you with better reliability with comparable performance.

Excellent phone but some negatives
I love most things about this phone. As everyone else says, the screen is excellent. If you're not used to big phones, at first it may feel too big and a mistake, but after a while you'll probably adapt to it and most other phones will seem tiny! It's big but thin, which means it fits well in pockets, unless pockets are very small. The button on the back may seem strange at first as well but is actually better than on the sides, and I would imagine more brands will start using the feature in the future. In any case, I hardly every use it because I turn the phone on and off by using the knock code, which is another good feature. It feels very nice in the hand, especially compared to the S5. It's plastic but feels quality and looks good. Nice curved shape at the back. But it does need a case because I imagine if dropped would not do very well. For the price it is a bargain, much cheaper than other current flagships and a better phone in general, I think. There are two things I don't like, however. First is the battery, which is mediocre. Second is that parts of the phone heat up easily. Even just using the web for a while will causes it to become hot, as does downloading apps. The heating is more prominent when playing games or videos. It heats up at the back in the button and camera lens and also on the top third of the screen. I spoke to LG about this and they said it shouldn't be doing this and that an update may fix it, and if not then I could send it for repair, which is of course a real pain to do.

Clear, Simplistic and Beautiful.
Very good device running Android 5.0 Lollipop (after update from 4.4.2) sporting a clear QHD screen at 5.5 inches from corner to corner. It is very easy to set up as can use any sim card as it is an unlocked phone. It charges up in no time at all, and the battery lasts an entire day and more with its 3000mAh battery. This is my first Android phone after owning an iPhone 3GS and 5C, and had no issues with the conversion from iOS. Android OS, i could describe to be quite freeing in comparison. iOS is locked down, and leaves you with very few personalisation options unlike Android, where you can literally do anything. Tapping the software version in settings will unlock the device to new options in the Developer Menu, allowing for USB debugging and geeky statistics. The phone itself is very light weight, and it came to my own surprise in comparison to my iPhone 5C. The fact the battery is replaceable is very useful if you are a heavy user, giving you the option to swap batteries. The placement of the power and volume buttons is unusual at first, but it is easy to get used to, and starts to feel natural from that of most devices that have their volume rockers on the sides. But with the 4k video and the beautiful 2K screen, the most useful function in the quick remote. It works so well with my TV (Samsung), allowing control of the power, volume, channel, menu and ok buttons as well as the 4 coloured buttons.

Great Phone
I bought this after my Nexus 5 failed on me after 14 months. What I liked about the G3 was that it's Android, it takes an SD card and it has a removable battery. Now, it's also very cheap, less than what I paid for the N5. I like the pure Google experience, so had to spend some time trying to minimise the impact of the LG settings and bloatware, but having done that it now looks and acts pretty much like the N5, which is a good thing. The screen is a nice big size, but not outrageous, and I actually like the placement of the volume and on/off buttons on the back. One thing I found on the N5 was that I often inadvertently locked the screen by accidentally touching the power button, but that hasn't happened on the G3. As for performance, it's as good as the N5 from what I see, which again is a good thing. I bought a ridiculously cheap cover ONX3® LG G3 D850 PREMIUM PU LEATHER Pull Tab Cord Skin Case Cover - Various Colours to protect the screen when carrying it in a pocket or bag, and also a 64GB card Samsung Grade 1 Class 10 64GB Evo Micro SDXC Memory Card with SD Adapter , which is really useful. I think this is a great buy, especially at the current low price, and based on this will upgrade to the G4 when the time comes. My days of Google restrictions on their hardware are over.
