how much can they hold?

I use them as modified downriggers for trolling for trout in my kayak. They'll comfortably hold 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 oz cannon ball weights, and I have yet to lose one. Other reviews have mentioned using weights as big as 4 oz, and I can believe this. The Clips can also be adjusted for more tension, but I have never found this to be necessary. Hope this helps..
