I can’t believe I haven’t already left a review! Love them!
You alone will know why an open ear headset might be something you’d want. So let me just focus on the function of these. Battery life is epic. I mean all day. I use them all day a lot of the time. Comfort is excellent. As I said, sometimes I wear them all day. I barely know they are there. In fact, sometimes I forget they are there. sizing is something we need to talk about. I am 6 feet tall and have a normal sized head I suppose and the mini ones fit me perfectly. I also have short hair so keep that in mind. The reason this is important is because the standard ones might give me a little more freedom without getting tight. I really don’t care about that because the minis allow me to sit in a chair without being uncomfortable when I put my head against the pillow. They can also be used in bed. In fact, sometimes I sleep all night long with these on, and they are still there when I wake up. If you can wear the mini and have a little bit of distance between your neck and head and you don’t have to look up a lot, get the mini! Otherwise get the standard ones and be aware that you probably won’t be able to put the back of your head against anything without removing them. Yes, you can pull them down and put them around your neck and they will stay there until you are ready to put them back over your ears. The sound is excellent. Especially once you download the app and boost the base a little. That is the essential feature of these with the extra speakers. However, they work just fine without the extra speakers as long as you were fine with a little treble. Since I normally listen. to podcasts, it doesn’t matter to me. I am just listening to some person‘s voice most of the time. However, if you use them in the classic mode, which means you are just getting the bone conduction, be aware that when you turn it up to a higher volume, you may feel some buzzing on your temples. I suppose I could look up the IP rating for these. I don’t know what it is. But I’ve worn them in the rain and not had any difficulties. USB-C charging is clutch! And I saved the best for last. The microphone call quality and noise, cancellation or voice isolation is really top notch. I mean, handset quality. I really prefer using these for telephone calls over AirPod earphones. These things blocked out a crowing rooster! I mean, wow! i’ve been using them for a few months and they seem to be pretty durable. No problems. The case that they come in is very nice and they charge quickly. I really don’t have a downside for these except maybe it would be nice to have the microphone extension Like the other model. But then again, the voice quality on these is so good. I don’t think I need it and that would just be something else in the way. I got these on sale. I don’t know what they cost right now. But if it is within your budget and you are considering them, just hit the buy button because they were great.

Simply Marvelous
Super happy with these. A bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it in the long run. I work 8 hour shifts often listening to music the whole time and on medium volume I can happily report the 14+hr battery to be accurate. Charges quick and pairs even quicker. Multi device pairing is a breeze too, only being made easier by the app where you can toggle on and off devices that the headphones will try to pair to. So, basically you can pair a bunch of devices and turn the ability to connect to them on and off. For me, I usually pair to my laptop and phone, but have my watch and streaming stick saved and toggled off so the headphones prioritize my phone and laptop so they don't fight for pairing power. I had the minus volume button deteriorate and come off rendering the rocker almost useless. I reached out to support and they sent me a new pair free of charge since it was still under warranty. Really nice and easy and now I have two pairs, just one I can't turn the volume down on nor rely on its water resistance. I'd consider myself an average sized dude 5'10" @160lbs and the "mini" size fits perfect and I barely know it's on me until I get a notification and hear it IN STEREO! Stereo audio is also a big plus for me and one of the main downsides to using just one in-ear earbud. Plus I get normal surround sound of the world around me in addition to stereo music. I think it's just one of the best daily-wear inventions yet. The Pro2 over the Pro1 any day! I'm serious about the extra sound drivers to pump that bass without skull rattling. It's a real comfort boost. You can change it to fully vibration mode in the app, but I've only done that on my Pro2 to show people how bad the Pro1 is lol.

A fantastic device with one major setback
As soon as I started encountering multiple problems from my AirPods Pro 2 after 2 years of abusive use, I was in the market for some alternatives. Some of the features I prioritize in wireless earbuds are long battery life, good sound quality, simple and consistent Bluetooth connectivity, and ease of use. After some research, I came across the OpenRun Pro 2 with many reviews stating its improved sound quality compared to its predecessor. I was initially hesitant given by its high price tag and my unfamiliarity with the SHOKZ brand, but I decided to give their flagship product a shot. Here are some of my thoughts after 4 months of use. I went to the SHOKZ website to print out their measuring guide to decide between their standard and mini variants. I was a good half-inch over the cutoff limit for the mini. I still decided to buy the mini after reading some reviews expressing some discomfort with the standard size. The mini fits snugly on the back of my head, leaving room for two fingers to fit in-between. Sure, the headband doesn't droop down to the nape as intended by the cover pictures. Needless to say, I think I made the right decision with the size. The packaging is excellent with the OpenRun Pro 2 arriving fully charged in a moderately sized silicone case. I have never once used the case in my 4 months of use, optioning to throw the headband naked into my cramped backpack while commuting. The headphone still holds up fine after daily torture. The controls are arguably intuitive with the volume rocker on the right side and the function control button on the left. You use your right thumb to control the volume and the labels protrude slightly so you know which button to press by feel. The function control button is on the left side next to the driver near the temple with 1 press for play/pause, 2 presses for next track, and 3 presses for previous track. Long press will activate the virtual assistant. I am very impressed with the battery life of this product. With moderate use at half volume, I can easily exceed 12 hours without needing to charge compared to 2-3 hours from my AirPods Pro 2. I have absolutely no complaints with battery management here. Bluetooth connectivity is also impressive, allowing me to walk around the house and my backyard with minimal dropouts. Multipoint pairing on this device is the best I have seen so far. I can seamlessly switch between my phone and my computer with the controls responding to the connected host currently playing any media. Latency is also not an issue at all. I am very particular with sound quality, and the OpenRun Pro 2 meets my expectation. The treble is crystal clear. The bass is quite lean and well-controlled, but the sub-bass doesn't extend far enough to be audible without EQ. Timbre sounds natural, but it can sound a bit "glassy" at times. While their mobile app is easy to navigate with product guides and online firmware updates, nearly all of their EQ presets are terrible. Bass boost is very muddy and bloated. Vocal is inferior to the classic preset. Treble boost straight up hurts my ears. My custom 5-band EQ is +3 and +2 on their 1st and 2nd band respectively and I tone down the 3kHz band by -1. Stick with either the standard or classic presets if needed. I often use my AirPods Pro 2 to listen to podcasts and audiobooks on the bed before going to sleep. As a side-sleeper, the OpenRun Pro 2 has been nothing short of amazing! With the excellent sound quality and battery life, I can watch YouTube videos or listen to audiobooks with my ear pressed against the pillow with little to no discomfort. The headband will still be on my head by the time I wake up. I can set an alarm without disturbing family members with the drivers next to my ears. This is a terrific sleeping aid for side-sleepers. My biggest complaint by far with the OpenRun Pro 2 has to be the volume control. I wish there is more variability of sound intensity with the discrete volume control, especially between 30-40% volume. I will often walk around my neighborhood late at night, jamming through my music playlist with little ambient noise. At 30%, the volume intensity is too quiet to enjoy the music, but stepping up one unit results in the device suddenly being too loud. It's as if they opted to switch the gain at those levels and it disappoints me to hear this issue persist despite multiple firmware updates. There is never a sweet spot of volume intensity between 30-40%. Overall, it has been a pleasure to use the OpenRun Pro 2. The headband fits nicely around my head. The sound quality is impressive. Battery life is spectacular! And it is forever anointed on my head as I sleep. There are some features I have yet to test such as microphone quality, sweat resistance, and bone conductivity. Yes, classic mode uses bone conductivity, but I have not used that preset enough to fully develop solid opinions. I guess if you want a more mid-forward tonality, then go with classic, however, my custom preset has been sufficient enough for daily use. If they could somehow fix the volume issue, I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking for a substitute wireless earbud/headphone if their budget supports it.

Great product value
These fit great! Very comfortable. You can wear them through exercise walking, sweating, whatever and the battery life is as described. You can still hear around you and remain safe while out and about.

Really enjoying these!
I always thought people looked a little strange wearing these, but changed my mind after trying a pair. Ok, so maybe people still look a little strange, but they work really well. I recently tried out a pair of Shokz at Cisco Live! and decided to try replacing my existing office headset with a pair. My office headset works great, except that it goes on the ears and I get extreme fatigue after wearing it for a while. I ordered a pair of Shokz OpenCom 2 UC. They worked great and did a good job at managing my laptop and phone simultaneously with multiple collaboration type calls (Webex, Teams, Zoon). But, they also left the back of my ears a little sore. I thought I would get used to it, but never quite did. And, because of the boom mic, they weren't super functional outside of an office environment. If you are thinking of something to replace you existing headset, I'd give these a try. Queue Amazon Prime day and I saw the Open Run Pro 2s on sale for a substantial discount, and it was still within the window to return my OpenComm 2 pair. I orderd the Open Run Pro 2s in a mini, and they fit great. More comfortable than the OpenComm 2 pair, and the sound is still excellent. I've not had a single complaint that people couldn't hear me or that I sounded distant or muffled. Admittedly, they do not handle being paired to multiple devices and juggle calls/music/collaboration as well as the OpenComm pair, but it's a very minor inconvinience. The biggest inconvinience is that they don't have a dedicated mute button on the headset (the OpenComm 2 does) - there are some videos and information about using both buttons to mute it, but I've never gotten that to work. But again, they are more functional outside of the office so this is a trade off. Overall, I am sticking with these due to their comfort and increased usability for both in and out of the office. So far, I wear these just about all day from when I jump on my first call, until I am completely done with work, and then I still sometimes will wear them around the yard/property. No soreness, no fatigue. Another bonus of these is that you can wear earplugs and still hear music or calls. Why would you do this? I often am operating loud equipment, such as a chainsaw, and while I can't hear the music while I'm running the motor as soon as I stop I don't have to take out my earplugs and I'm good to go. Kind of neat. I've only had these a couple of weeks, but so far the battery has been great, and even after a full day of calls and listening to music I am still at a "medium" battery level (they only tell you high, medium, low). I wouldn't use these in a scenario where I actively want to block out sound, but that's not the intended use. They are meant to allow you to hear the sounds around you and for that they work very well. I have small ear canals and can never find any earbuds that fit me.

Good fit, great sound, not flimsy.
These are great. They are crystal clear for calling (so much so that I can have conversations while jogging, even with some wind noise) and for listening to audio books. I haven't yet used them with music so can't speak to depth of bass/etc., but overall I am very pleased. The fit is perfect for a relatively narrow head. They feel solid. Good battery life, but I do keep them charged up and swap them out, so I can't say whether it meets the claimed number of hours. There was nothing weird about the bone conduction aspect (it totally works), plus they also do have an external speaker that projects the sounds into your ear. I am able to maintain good awareness of surroundings while never straining to hear what I am listening to.

Amazing Call Quality 10/10
I own the Open Run Mini, predecessor to this product, because I am concerned about safety while I'm on my long runs. The only reason why I decided to upgrade my headphones was because none of the headphones I owned were capable of letting me take a phone call while running. I live in a very windy place, and I get the same complaints from all the different headphones/earbuds I've tried thus far because the road noise is distracting, my footsteps are too loud, or the wind just completely makes the call unbearable for the other side. I was highly deliberating between this headset and the openrun air 2 but ultimately was sold on the idea that this one could handle 15 mph winds. Let me tell you, not only can it handle up to 15 mph winds, but according to my Garmin can handle up to 23 mph winds! I went on a hour long run on a Friday and even when the road noise was deafening for me, my parents could hear me loud and clear on their end. I am thrilled. This mic is actually better than my gaming headset mic (SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7). I sometimes prefer to use these one over the other ones if I'm going to be just around the house listening to music because it is so light and comfortable. This may not be a huge feature for some, but you can take a call while in a handstand and there's no issues. With the companion app, you can switch the different modes of the headphones from classic bone conduction to standard mode or different enhanced modes depending on what you're listening to. I was pretty skeptical of this but changing the headphone mode for podcasts greatly improves the user experience. Charging is fast and battery life is excellent. I know some users say that the waterproof rating is not as good as the previous model or other models, but in my experience this hasn't been an issue. TL;DR, the engineering team nailed it with this one. Buy this if you want to be able to have an open-ear headset solution for whatever your needs might be. The limited edition Odyssey is gorgeous.

They're fantastic but *way* too expensive, loss of star for the price
These are 5 star headphones with a 3 star price. I got them for $124 during a Prime deal day sale but regular price of $200 is out of line. They fit marvelously and look great, comfortable enough that you can just leave them on and not worry about finding a place to set them or fear them falling out of your ears, no reason to take them off since they don't obstruct your hearing at all. The comfort is unmatched in any headphone, better than over the ear because you can hear perfectly around you and light years ahead of in ear buds that make your ears hurt after a short time. They do not interfere with my normal glasses arms, thicker sport glass arms might though. There is no point in setting the bone conduction only mode (classic) on the app if you're not swimming which these are not designed for as the sound is not nearly as good as using the standard mode with the speaker. The app is worth grabbing for the ability to set a custom EQ and to do multi pairing which works well but has one limitation that won't apply to most people. The multi pair will let a phone ring through and switches to the phone if you're listening to another connected source but you can't listen to both sources at the same time, like if you're gaming on a steam deck and want to listen to music from your phone. Not a big deal but worth knowing if that was something you wanted to do like I did. Initial pairing is painless and they connect instantly, it's effortless the way they just connect instantly with no fiddling. Battery life is pretty good but the voice that tells you the state of charge isn't super helpful, I'd prefer if it said a % rather than "high" or "medium" which is pretty vague.

Awesome customer support!
Excellent product and really great customer support. I am writing this review over a year after using this Shokz headset (OpenRun Pro Mini). After some heavy and constant use one of silicon buttons came loose and reported to Shokz support and although I could not remember the serial# and it was worn off, Shokz support replaced it with a completely new one. As a general customer care advise I'd suggest keeping them in protective case that comes with every Shokz. But again really impressed with Shokz support and would recommend them to anyone.
