Stylish item, makes fizzy water for drinks. We do get through the gas quite quickly though!!

Beautiful but incomplete
This is a far cry from the original machine which I remember my parents buying when it first came out in the 70's. A tall, plastic box with a little button on the top. Wow I loved that machine as a kid - we put everything in it the syrups you could buy, but quickly worked out that most squashes work just as well. I think eventually it broke and we never replaced it, so I was quite excited to get the chance to review the new incarnation. It's a very different machine, fashioned out of ultra-shiny stainless steel. A designer item to be sure, which is kind of in-keeping with the whole soda-stream ethos, I mean it's always cheaper to BUY ready made soda - owning a SodaStream back in the 80's was all about keeping up with the Joneses. This new model isn't something that will sit quietly in a corner of your kitchen and blend into the background. It simply DEMANDS attention - keeping that shiny surface polished is a new task on the daily TODO list just in case someone pops round. But overall I have to say I'm intensely disappointed that with no prior warning, this machine is supplied without any gas. I presume this is because shipping an item WITH compressed gas presents logistical issues? But the advert should state this.I'm tempted to award 3*. -1 for no gas, and -1 for the obscene price, but tbh, if you're reading this, you're not worried about the price.

Great looking machine for my kitchen
I’ve had a few SodaStream machines before which were all really easy to use and love the fact that we are saving on single use plastic bottles! Now I’ve got the Enso it’s all of the above and a thing of beauty in my kitchen!I love the stainless steel finish and proud to have on my worktop!Would definitely recommend this to anyone that drinks fizzy water and pop and the Enso will look great in anyone’s kitchen!

Looks gooood but that is all
The media could not be loaded. This is a top of the top model from SodaStream. It costs £189.99 at the moment which is much more than a standard SodaStream machine for about £60. So what you are paying that extra money for? Does it make fizzy drinks better? Not really! Same as any other fizzy drink maker machine. Is it 3 times easier to use as cheaper models? Not really again. Cheaper models are almost as easy as this model to use it. Does it come with extra bits and pieces? Not at all. Gas bottle is NOT included, concentrated drinks are NOT included, and you get only one 1 litre bottle. You are paying all that money just for the shiny, polished metal case that you will need to clean a lot because it gets dirty very easily. Maybe that is why they've included a little microfibre cloth to clean it with.Does it look good on the kitchen top? Ohhh yes it does! I don't think it is worth so much money though, especially that cheaper models offers exactly the same features and you can get some extra bits for much cheaper or even for free.Does it deserve the 5 stars? I wish it would but it doesn't because for that price there should be a gas bottle included to get you started right away. However, I feel like it would be unfair to give it 4 stars because it is easy to use and it does look good, even though it is hard to keep it clean. If you have money to spend for this SodaStream model then why not as it does stand out in the kitchen but if you are just thinking that you will get better carbonated water for that price then stick to a cheaper models that are as good as this one but will look slightly more average.Design: 5 starsAccessories: 2 starsPrice: 2 starsEasiness of use: 5 stars

Excellent but expensive
The media could not be loaded. This is a great device for making your own fizzy drinks. This looks absolutely stunning with a shiny mirror finish, I'm sure this must be the top of the Soda Steam line. It's a bit of a finger magnet but there's a wiping cloth to keep the finger prints down.It is well packaged using recycled materials. The reusable plastic bottle is a nice touch and there's a proper lid to keep your bubbles fresh on a journey or for storage. There's a simple guide that's easy to follow, I've never used one of these before and had it working in under five minutes straight out of the box.All in all this is a fantastic bit of kit but there is a slight down side. It is very expensive and you don't get a bottle of gas which is pretty poor as for this amount of money it isn't a lot to ask. The bottles can be bought extra too, but to keep things fresh I will just be doing one bottle at a time and keep chilled still water in the fridge ready to go.So despite the high price tag and lack of gas I still give this a five star rating, If you can afford one of these I'm sure neither will put you off.
