I've have always wanted to do embroidery but never just sat down and started. I finally brought myself one of those kits that contains flowers but after looking at it for some time I decided it was too complicated and just set it aside. The thing that I like the most about this kid is that it's for beginners, and it teaches you the different types of stitches that use with embroidery and so I definitely feel like this was the best step for me.After doing each Stitch a few times I felt very comfortable with it and I think that this is something that I'll use to refer back to as I'm undertaking more advanced projects. My daughter had a great idea that I should take these in either sold them or iron them on to the front of my bag that I use to carry around my embroidery projects. That way it's just always there as a reminder. Such a great idea and very unique and attractive.One of the things that I like most about these kits is that they come with everything that you need in order to do the project. Including little scissors. There's also a complete guide that just walks you step by step through how to do everything and there's even a video that you can watch. I'm looking forward to finishing my project and starting others. This is a great opportunity to put the tablets, the phones, the TV and any other electronic distractions down for a while and just have quiet time.I feel that it's worth a mention that the kit only comes with one hoop although it kind of looks like it comes with more. The scissors that are included are basic craft scissors, they get the job done but they're nothing amazing. As stated this is a beginner's kit the kind of dip your toe into embroidery to see if this is something that you'd like to do if you enjoy it and you think this is something you want to do then this is a great jumping off point and as you continue future projects you can upgrade your tools that you use. I would highly recommend this kit for anybody starting out just trying to decide if embroidery is something they want to do. I rate this kit 10 for being complete and having everything that you need to get started.

first off, this looks like it comes with three hoops but clearly states that it only comes with one and it does. also, the size of the hoop and each sampler is bigger than i expected but that means there's plenty of room to actually practice the stitches, any smaller would mean finer stitches and less beginner friendly. now, the scissors included are complete garbage but do the trick if all you need to do is trim the thread. the needles and threader also get the job done, though of course better ones exist. the instructions are kind of a pain but relatively easy to understand. the tutorials for each stitch? less so. you're better off referring to a more detailed book or videos, i can't really learn any handicraft via images anyway so i always look stuff on youtube whether knitting, crocheting or whatever and this is no different. the fabric, itself, is a thick white cotton that does shed thread like other unhemmed canvas, but not excessively so. there's different types of fabric could embroider on and i don't know that this one is inferior to others, seems decent for learning/practicing and is thick enough that the threads don't show through the backside like they can on thinner fabrics. according to the instructions, the blue ink should dissolve if soaked but i'm hesitant to try in case the ink or thread colors bleed. if i attempt to soak and have any issues with it, i'll update my review.

I've done cross stitch and such for a while but never actually learned any of the stitches and this was so helpful to get started. It is sturdy and the instructions were pretty easy to follow along with. The different pictures are so cute as well!

I am a complete beginner to embroidery so I thought this would be a good way to start since it goes over several types of stitches. Pros - The prints are very clear and cute, and you do get the basics of what you could need to see if you like embroidery. The cons - the kit contains the wrong kind of needles (a friend who has done embroidery pointed this out to me). They give you regular sewing needles which have eyes too small for thick embroidery thread. They do not give you enough thread (at least not if you will make mistakes like I did). Note the amount of blue I have left and I haven't finished this project, and one other requires blue. Also, the instructions are severely lacking - on this point however you can look up videos for any embroidery stitch online in about 10 seconds so this isn't a huge problem. If they would give you more thread, the right kind of needles, and maybe QR links to videos instead of or along side the directions, this product could be 5 stars, but right now, it's 3 stars at best.

I ordered this for my nieces to learn to embroidery. They are 9 and 10, but I'm not convinced they are ready for this yet. The directions are fit for older teens or adults. However, the kit itself is great for the older crew. I will hang on to it for a bit.

Great introduction to embroidery. Just enough to get your started without being too difficult or overwhelming.
