Great for people with dementia
My dad has dementia and is currently in hospital. When I arrived with this today the nurse said he was really agitated. When I gave it to him he used it the whole time I was there and it really settled him. I am going to look at the rest of the range now to order some more!

It’s nicely made but somehow not very interesting to handle! Mum didn’t take to it at all.

Helps with my anxiety and ocd
After a horrendous year I've been left with fairly severe anxiety. Playing with this really helps calm my thoughts down. I try to focus on getting the rhythm right to keep the ball rolling around smoothly and it really helps to put my mind at ease. Wish I had known about this when my grandma was still with us as I think it would have helped calm her down when she was feeling stressed due to her alzheimers.

Great for fiddling
Uncle is quite far gone with alzheimer's I wasn't sure if he would be able to use this, but he was fiddling with it straight away. The wood feels lovely and as he always worked with his hands this was great. Definitely recommend

Gift for my husband.
My husband has Alzheimer’s and enjoyed twirling this gadget non stop when he first had it. He keeps it by him but doesn’t bother much with it now.It does make an irritating squeaking noise, not sure if it’s supposed to do that.

Not for everyone
Mum, in the last stages of Alzheimer’s, looked at me in disgust and asked what was she supposed to do with it!! Maybe suitable for some people who’ve worked with tools etc. It’s now stuck in the side and mum won’t touch it! It’s beautifully made but I could just as will have given her a smooth stick!

Updated: seller sent replacement that works.
You would think the idea would be to twist the center piece from one end back to the other. It does not twist. It just slides back and forth as if there are no threads at allUpdate 1/12/23. After previous review, seller contacted me and sent out a replacement that works great ! Thanks so much for the great customer service to make sure the product was top notch !
