From a functional perspective, this grill will be a fierce protector of this fixture from every day outdoor perils such as lawn tractors passing over while mowing, kids playing, etc.The main body of the fixture is thick corrosion proof aluminum approximately 4 inches in diameter to encourage improved cooling interchange with surrounding environment materials. Other budget priced well lights known to this reviewer have a fixture diameter considerably smaller, and constructed of plastic thin enough to crinkle and collapse with normal human handling.This reviewer has had the pleasure of designing and building several low-voltage outdoor landscape lighting systems since the 1980s and has greatly enjoyed the incredible advances in the quality, variety, energy efficiency, and related benefits during this time. Installing low-voltage lighting is both easy and extremely gratifying as the rewards are extremely tangible and instantaneous.We use a regular 4 inch deep edger to push out shallow subcutaneous type trenches in the lawn turf, gently insert suitable gauge copper low-voltage cable, stomp the turf back in place and presto-ready to install the fixture. Unlike regular 110 V household power, low-voltage current is so negligible that we leave the transformer powered on during the install process to receive instant feedback that joints, connections, and fixtures are working properly. There is no danger of electrocution or shocking.Although we already greatly enjoy dozens of low-voltage lighting well lights here at the tree farm (pictures attached) similar in function, they only produce a 5 Watt lighting output, less than the present item under review. Pretty good light that tested at 6W.The build is good, and the electronic is sealed.The base need to be detached from the lamp using the 4 visible screws. The supplied hex key was not strong enough, I suggest starting with your own key from the beginning to avoid stripping the screws.

Pros:- Lights look very polished, professional and modern with a stainless-steel cover and screws.- Very bright light, strong enough to light up a large tree (from the bottom).- Includes wire quick connectors which make it easy to connect the lights to your existing landscape lighting (although 1 of the lights did not come with the connector).- I was able to install the lights into my existing landscape lighting with my existing 12V transformer without issues.- Includes an Allen wrench to remove cover and service the internal lights (not sure how easy it would be to replace the LEDs inside if they burn out).- Includes a small instruction booklet providing tips for easy installation.Cons:- One of the lights arrived without the quick connector (need to contact the company or look for one at my local hardware store).- The attached wire is very short (9 inches long), so you’re limited to how far away from your existing wiring you can install them, unless you buy extra wiring.Conclusion:Overall, these lights work great as accent lighting to landscaping, especially when installed under trees, among ornamental grasses, or along walls.

I wanted a well lit pathway.Installing these lights was straightforward, although I chose to place them in the gravel section of my pathway to avoid damaging the concrete. The included wire connectors were a welcome addition, but remember that a low-voltage transformer and additional wiring might be necessary depending on your outlet location. These well lights came securely packaged in a single box. When I removed them from the box I felt these were professional quality lights as they felt much better made than some of the other landscaping light products I have purchased in the past.The connections are standard and the units run on a standard landscape transformer. These are low voltage lights (running at 12 volts), so that eliminates the shock hazards associated with 110 volt lights, and eliminates the need for an electrician to hook them up. Keep in mind you will need to supply the transformer as one is not included.We have embedded these lights in the ground to illuminate a row of trees at night - they do a good job, and add both a nice visual effect as well as a level of added security.I have used my pressure washer on one of the lights to test the water proofing and it did an excellent job, showing no sign of water seepage. This type of test goes beyond normal use, but demonstrates how good the product is.Overall Verdict?I found these to be excellent lights for a reasonable price. I highly recommend this product.
