T.W Evans Cordage 23-400 3/8-Inch by 732-Feet Twisted Sisal Rope

I bought this big box of rope as I have 3 cats and about a half dozen scratching posts of many sizes throughout the house. I grew tired of buying the little 50 or 100 foot rolls as I go through several when I re-wrap all the scratching posts. I wish I would have bought this years ago, I would have saved a whole pile of money. This box of rope is perfect. I leave the box on the floor and wrap the posts sitting on my workbench. There are no oils or strange smells or colors so I am sure there is nothing in this rope that would harm my cats. I have re-wrapped three posts so far and I have no complaints at all. I highly recommend this rope for anyone that plans on using it around their pets.

This rope is consistent, and free of most flaws. It also does not have many broken fibers. The box it was shipped in was beat up and had glue on it. Probably sat in a warehouse for a long time, but it does not affect the quality of the product.I used this to repair an old cat tower, as the carpet wrapped around several 2x4s had worn out. It was fairly easy to add this on after removing the old carpet and staples. I just used some 3/4 in drywall screws every few rows to secure the rope, and a hammer to tighten up the rows and even them out. Finished off the cut ends with some hot glue. The end result looks quite nice and the cats are happy with it.Large nails would probably work, but drywall screws go in quick at a consistent depth and will not fall out. If going through carpet, keep in mind that screws will not work and nails should be used. It takes a bit of force to go around the edges of 2x4s. Edges should also be sanded a bit so they do not cut into the rope. If building something new, I would suggest using a cylinder (PVC pipe), or an octagonal piece of wood (edge a 4x4). Also, use some work gloves.. after pulling on this stuff for a white, my fingers hurt quite a bit.

This rope worked great for my cat tower project. Multiple reviews said the cable was not consistent but the portion I used all seemed pretty close to the same. Only thing I wish is that it came in a smaller length. I only needed about 400 feet not the 700+ this was, but I couldn’t find anything in between this and 250 feet. Cat loves it and looks great to me. Happy with my purchase.

Quality sisal, works as expected for replacing worn rope on cat towers.Thick rope, should last longer.

I love a continuous feed of sisal rope. Great quality. Reasonable price. Must wear gloves when using. Will not buy any other brand.

Just opened this Box of rope to start rapping Sissel posts for my cats. The rope is very uneven. 3/8" in some areas 1/2" in other areas. It Also is not tightly woven so the rope is very loose. I am very disappointed in the quality of this product.

This stuff is perfect for a cat scratching post. I made a floor-to-ceiling post using 4" PVC pipe. The cats love it.Make sure to follow the instructions on the packaging -- just open the hole in the top of the box and feed the cord out through the hole from the center of the coil. If you do it this way, you won't have any tangles. If you open the whole box and remove the coil, you will likely end up with a tangled mess.

Making a few car scratch posts. Hoping this rope will make them long-lasting.
