Shigley's is a must-have reference for engineers - and I resented this book in college, but only for the fact it was so dense with good stuff I was forced to grind.

Still in imperial units despite outside of US edition
Bought in the hope they converted to metric but no the entire book is still in kpsi, lbf and other ridiculous modern engineering units.
