Snow Peak Double Wall Insulated Stacking Mug, Lightweight, Titanium 450 ml

Light and sturdy. Be careful with hot drinks!

This is a wonderful mug! I bought it as a camping mug, but I've ended up using it as an everyday mug while overseas. It does a good job insulating liquids...the outside of my single walled Snow Peak mug tends to heat up very quickly (duh!), and the contents tend to cool off rather rapidly...this keeps my tea hot long enough for me to finish it leisurely while never getting so hot I can't pick it up. It does get toasty right after putting boiling water in, but not hot enough to burn me. It's also easier to drink from than the single walled mugs since the lip doesn't heat up quite so much. I do have a set of Hot Lips for my single walled mug, but they tend to fall off or get sandy/gritty when outdoors...I like not having to deal with that. Like the single walled titanium mug, you don't get a metallic taste when you drink, either. Finally, while I haven't eaten anything from it yet, I've drank water, tea, soju, and gatorade from it (and several combinations thereof), and all it's taken is a quick rinse with water to clean it out with no smell from the previous contents... As to construction, it's well made and very understated. The pictures on the Amazon website do it justice...the outside is smooth to the touch with just a hit of texture, while the inside has more texture, but is not rough. The only seam is on the rim weld where the outside meets the flared inner cup. They did a very good job of smoothing the weld line...it's uniform, small, and very smooth. Overall a fantastic, if slightly pricey mug for camping or everyday use. I haven't tried to actually crush it, but the outside is plenty stiff. It probably wouldn't stand up to dropping a 50 lb pack on it, but I don't foresee accidentally crushing it when it's packed. I'll definitely be checking out their other sizes!

While I'm an Eagle Scout and someone who camps occasionally, I bought this cup for office use. It's a bit of a showpiece among mechanical/materials engineers, but we don't have a proper kitchenette at work so I make loose leaf tea with a kettle at my desk in this. I wanted something that wouldn't be breakable. I bought this in Feb 2015 and by my estimates, I've steeped over 7000 cups of tea in it. It's still my daily cup. It'll eventually develop a patina on the oxide layer inside with that much tea or coffee, but once a year I bring it home and run through the dishwasher a few times to remove it and make it look new again. The double-wall insulation isn't as good as a vacuum-style cup with a lid, but it allows for boiling water to be poured in without burning your hands. It will get warm on the outside, but not unbearable, and keeps it warm long enough to enjoy without rushing. I love this cup, and intend to make it an heirloom! Here's to thousands more cups of tea. I purchased the Snow Peak H450 cup after owning the small flask and being impressed with its high-quality manufacturing and attention to detail. I also purchased a Hydro Flask insulated mug, so I decided to do a side-by-side comparison to see how they stack up in terms of temperature retention. Temperature Retention Comparison (No Lids): I tested both cups by pouring 180°F water, heated with a Fellow kettle, and measured the temperature over 15 minutes. Here are the results: Snow Peak H450 (100.4g): • 5 mins: 155°F • 10 mins: 144°F • 15 mins: 135°F Hydro Flask (269.4g): • 5 mins: 153°F • 10 mins: 145°F • 15 mins: 139°F After repeating the test a couple of times, the results were about the same. Without a lid, both cups perform similarly, though the Hydro Flask did slightly better in holding heat over time. When I used the Hydro Flask with its lid, the temperature only dropped to 165°F after 15 minutes, so a lid is definitely recommended for optimal performance, especially if you’re not drinking your hot beverage quickly. Handling & Comfort: The Snow Peak cup was pleasantly warm to the touch when filled, but never hot or uncomfortable to hold or touch to your lips. It was nice to sip from and warmed my hands slightly, which I appreciated—it’s a tactile reminder that you’re about to enjoy a hot drink. In contrast, the Hydro Flask’s exterior stayed cool, which can be deceiving when you forget just how hot the drink inside is. Design & Use: Aesthetically, the Snow Peak cup is beautiful, with a minimalist, functional design that weighs just 100 grams—perfect for camping or backpacking where every ounce matters. However, it doesn’t come with a lid, which is a downside for those who want to keep their beverage warm longer. The Hydro Flask, on the other hand, has a comfortable handle, soft plastic exterior coating, and comes with a lid. It’s slightly heavier but costs less and probably makes more sense for the average person looking for an insulated coffee mug. Final Thoughts: The Snow Peak H450 is an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts who value a lightweight, well-crafted cup, but keep in mind that a lid is almost essential for better heat retention. For everyday use, the Hydro Flask might be a more practical option with its included lid and similar performance at a lower price point.

Instant cool points at camp. Don’t test it for crush resistance. Nice smudging instantly gives it a used look. Could use daily if you wanted.

Almost perfect but not quite. Everyone raves about SnowPeak gear so figured I’d jump on board too. It is a nice mug but the rim of the mug that you interact with while drinking….should be much, much smoother/rounded off. It’s sort of sharp almost. Not smooth and pleasant to slowly sip a beverage from. I have cheaper options that are more relaxing to sip from. Coulda been a great mug otherwise

nice cup, too thin walled to matter with the "double walled insulation" but, the thickness adds to a nicer mouthfeel. the outside texture is nice too. it's very light

It's a virtually indestructible, eco minded, beautiful cup... it has already paid for itself with free coffee from generous hotel personnel, airline stewards etc. Everyone in the world should own one - just don't lose it! Also it's amazing the contrast between how hot it keeps the beverage and how normal the temperature is on the outside of the cup - I guess the magic is titanium with vacuum between. Incredibly light weight which seals the deal -- no excuse not to bring it with you. You won't regret it.

Buy if you need a Ti lightweight cup that can be stacked, and is doubled walled. Do not buy if you are looking for a vacuum insulated thermal cup, because its not vacuum insulated. Watermarks are also rather visible.

I love these mugs,have one for years for camping, Lightweight excellent fold away handle, Robust design, double skin so hand won't get hot, The 450 is a good size it holds 450mls

Qualitativ hochwertige Tasse... mit extra Platz. Ich brauche einen großen Kaffee am Morgen. Die Doppelwand funktioniert sehr gut und die Tasse bleibt kühl genug zum anfassen. Tut was sie soll sehr gut und sieht dabei nich edel aus!
