Seam popped on first use
Decent pack but i'm very disappointed that a seam popped on my first trip. The seam is double sewn, so the pack is still usable, but i don't trust it now.I'd return it, but I'm two weeks past the return window.

Great price, satisfactory quality.
the price was excellent, but the clips were very cheap. It was bought for a gift for my son and he likes the amount of storage it had and the weight of it.

Glad I Chose This For My Backpack Upgrade
I have had a 70L pack for about 15 years. Back then, I needed something that big to hold all of my big gear. As I have upgraded my sleep system, clothes, etc. over the years, the big pack was too much for my 3-4 day backcountry excursions & I started to look for something a little smaller in the 55 L range. Found this pack and it has definitely met my needs!PROS- Very good, dependable material. The ripstop fabric ensures a wayward branch to the side of the pack will get slowed down vs. ripping a big hole. (Carry tenacious tape for repair jobs!)- Zippers and strps also seem sturdy. No loose threads on the construction, no frayed straps after initial use.- Easily adjustable on the back, hips, and chest to get a nice, comfortable ride. Once cinched, the straps stay cinched and do not appear to loosen while hiking. Nice padded straps, which felt very comfortable on my back while on trail. I really can't stress the comfort here compared to my old pack!- Hipbelt pocket on right hand side. Great place to stick snacks or a compass. Not big enough for average smartphone however.- The mesh side pockets are great. Big enough to carry some gear, or hold trekking poles when not in use, or most importantly to me, a water bottle. These pockets are smartly angled slightly towards the wearer (as opposed to being straight up & down), so you can reach your water bottle while walking and not have to stop and take the pack off.- Nice capacity in the detachable "brain" or top compartment. Nice for holding rain gear or an extra layer, etc. Pack also worked great without it!- I love the lower compartment for holding my entire sleep system - hammock, tarp, quilts, pillow, stakes, etc. Also too big for my needs. Would be nice to hold a sleeping bag of average size for folks that do not use a hammock. I also had room for my Helinox Chair Zero ultralight camp chair down there!- Main body has lots of room. (Can add more by unzipping divider between main and lower sections if you want to carry longer items.)- The pack is nicely water resistent on its own and even more so with the included rain cover.CONS- The hydration bladder compartment is a little difficult to get cinched properly, especially as you drink from the bladder and its capacity lowers. Also the out hole for a hydration bladder is only on the right hand side, so you are out of luck if you like that on the left. Neither were drawbacks to me, but my teenage son noticed them.- The stretchy mesh pocket on the front - I have not found the best use for it yet. I usually kept my cook set and food on the similar pocket on my old pack, but am more concerned about ripping the mesh on this. If it were made of the same ripstop material as the base pack, it would be better to me.- If you are a "gram weenie," this pack probably is not for you. My old pack weighed 5 1/2 pounds, so this weighing only 3 1/2 pounds is awesome. For those not super concerned on the weight, this is enjoyable to carry, as you do not feel the weight on your back as much thanks to the great suspension system!I did not try strapping items to the top, sides, or bottom of this pack so I cannot comment on how that carries. In summary - this is a great pack at this price point. Able to properly carry a lot of gear comfortably! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Okay, not very comfortable
I went hiking for the first time and used this backpack. Before I left, it weighed in at 40 lbs. At the beginning of the hike, I kept having to stop and adjust it. It either had too much pressure on my shoulders or was digging into my hips. I finally got it in a bearable position, but it still hurt my chest/hips/shoulders. I put on a thick coat later, and that helped the pain a lot. I am thin and have hip bones that stick out and bony shoulders, so I am sure that was part of the issue. My husband's more expensive hiking backpack was more padded around the waist/hip strap and more comfortable. The backpack was pretty durable and had enough room for a short hike/camping trip. It will do for now, but I would like to upgrade in the future. It is a cheap backpack that would be good for non-avid hikers and beginners. I rated it three stars because it's just okay.
