Purchased this for my garden to test the soil. This product is pretty sturdy and came in handy. It has a few different parameters that you can use to test your soil. I needed it specifically for PH. Works well! It takes 4 AAA batteries. So far it has been very accurate. Great product for the price.

This is the first tool that measures the important levels for plants. The three I'm most interested is moisture level, soil temperature, and pH. Light level is interesting, but "there's an app for that", as they say.I mention what I don't like about it, not to complain, but hoping it helps in improving it. The two aspects that change the most are soil temp and moisture. On the display, however, these are shown in tiny type, and difficult to read with my 71 year old eyes. On the other hand, both the pH and light readings are very large type. My preference is to have this reversed, so I wouldn't have difficulty reading the two most changeable levels, and only have to squint for the less changeable ones.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I chose this one over others because it has a tilting head, I have some taller plants that are full and seeing inside the leaves was hard-this made it easy. It is fast to give the information and covers everything I needed, soil moisture, ph levels (important for finicky plants), sunlight intensity and soil temperature. I don't pay attention to the soil temperature so that doesn't matter to me. It is fast when you switch it from plant to plant. The instructions do not tell you how to adjust the PH value, so I just use it as it is but that may be important for some plants. I love that I am able to retain the correct moisture and PH level, my plants are so much happier! This is really helpful for plant happiness!Durability:It seems to be well-made, it is a good size for all of the plants, unfortunately it cannot put it in water, I start my clippings in water-that would be useful in testing the PH levels.

I purchased this Soil Tester to monitor the health of my plants which are all in containers. This meter is excellent in quality with highly useful features and I can't say enough good things about it! Instead of using the finger method of determining if the soil is wet enough, this meter gives me an accurate measurement so there's no over watering. The temperature of the soil in the containers is of considerable importance as well. Well worth the money!!

It works as intended, but I was primarily hoping to use it as a more precise indication of when and how much to water, especially for my indoor houseplants. It's almost too accurate for this- it will display the moisture reading for exactly where the probe is. That means that I can move it a cm down, up, or to the sides and the reading might be different. Interesting data that my soil doesn't spread moisture evenly, but not the data I was looking for.
