What is inclusive leadership in the workplace and how can it improve performance? This book combines inclusive leadership definition, examples, behaviours, and frameworks with practical strategies for real organisational challenges. It introduces a clear model connecting inclusion to decision-making, team effectiveness, and organisational performance, supporting leaders to apply inclusive leadership in practice, not just in theory. Review: It was a work of frustration and clarity! - This book is about creating reasonable perspectives on inclusive workplace leadership. It addresses common challenges such as the political influences on people's perceptions of inclusive leadership, the realities of navigating organisational complexity, and the importance of staying focused on people thriving and doing good work. It emphasises focused practice rather than contributing to further polarisation. Review: Excellent text on Inclusive Leadership - This comprehensive and extensively researched book demystifies the hype surrounding inclusive leadership. It sets out clearly the steps or scaffolding which needs to be taken to create and foster a collaborative culture and most critically, the key performance indicators to benchmark progress and compliance in doing so. The importance of focusing upon the benefits arising from cultural re-engineering is highlighted with a cautionary note that failure to do so may result in costing both money and lives in the long term. What I found appealing is that it has relevance well beyond the traditional organizational domain. For example in my own role as an advocate for the older person I can immediately relate to the author's belief that we are inherently dehumanizing ourselves when we dehumanize others, that violation of human rights by anyone irrespective of the circumstances must never be tolerated and that allowances have to be made without judgment to accommodate the specific needs of people. Of particular relevance to advocacy groups including my own peers is that we must utilize funding in more cost efficient and effective ways by focusing on inclusive solutions. In terms of addressing the needs of the older person this means moving away from heavy reliance upon long-term residential care and placing greater emphasis upon funding community supports. There are also many lessons which nursing home managers and owners could take on board to make their organizations more inclusive which ultimately would yield significant benefits to residents. The book is supported by comprehensive references and also additional online resources which can be drawn upon to ensure inclusive leadership remains dynamic and relevant in the uncharted waters brought about by organizational change, technological developments in areas such as AI and social engineering and the transformational changes in society generally. Sile has done a great job in bringing all of the tools, techniques and perspectives that one needs to implement inclusive leadership across diverse organizations. I wish I had access to this book when I worked in management!
