Flavourless
The jus-rol puff pastry is great so I thought this would also be good. Instead it tastes like cardboard. Wish I'd taken the time to make my own. Feels like a waste of the other ingredients I used.

Don’t use this product unless your desperate!
I recently had a marathon bake off for a charity fund raising event and decided in order to save time, I would use Just-rol Shortcrust Pastry. Using the “Blind Baking” method.I would not recommend this product for the following reasons.1) Despite following the instructions to the letter, the pastry shrinks by about 2-3 cms. In the baking process and the sides collapsed. Not good for making quiche or tarts.2) Prior to baking, I fluted round the rims for presentation. As the pastry cooked, the fluting disappeared & I ended up with uneven thick rim.3) The only way I could prevent the sides of my pastry tart case from shrinking & collapsing, was to leave a 3cm overhang of pastry. Thinking I would trim the pastry crust off once baked. This did not work and left a raggedy edge which was not good for presentation. This method also wastes a lot of pastry.4) Which brings me to my final reason for never using this product again. To obtain a light crisp even bake, you can really only roll the pastry once. Any trimmings can not be re-used as the pastry becomes over worked & rubbery.I wondered if it’s because among its many ingredients, Palm Oil is the culprit. It’s a horrible product used to cut costs and should be removed from the Food Chain for more reasons you really don’t want me o write about.
