es más barato que ir a terapia
desde que lo compre supe que cambiaria mi vida y no me equivoque... genuinamente creo que no es para cualquiera, tal vez solo para los valientes que se atreven a vivir y ser libres

A fun read, hard to put down.
Miranda July has always had this unique way of making the ordinary feel strangely profound, and All Fours takes that talent to another level. I went into it knowing only the basic premise: a semi-famous artist in her mid-forties decides to drive cross-country from LA to New York as a kind of milestone birthday gift to herself, leaving her husband and young child behind. But barely half an hour into the journey, she pulls off the freeway, checks into a random motel in a small town... and everything changes. What follows is less a traditional road-trip novel and more an intimate, often hilarious exploration of midlife, desire, identity, and what it means to suddenly want something entirely different from the life you've carefully built. The protagonist is wonderfully flawed and recognisable – creative, anxious, self-aware to a fault – and July writes her with such sharp, tender precision that I felt seen in ways I wasn't expecting. There's humour here (so much dry, deadpan wit), but it's layered with real emotional depth; moments of vulnerability hit hard amid the absurdity. The prose is signature July: concise yet vivid, full of those little observations that make you pause and nod. The story doesn't rush; it lingers in quiet, awkward, beautiful places, letting the character's inner world unfold naturally. I loved how it refuses easy answers about marriage, motherhood, ageing, or reinvention – instead it just observes, with compassion and a sly sense of mischief. At around 400 pages, it felt exactly the right length – I read it over a long weekend, often laughing out loud one minute and getting unexpectedly emotional the next. It's been shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2025 for good reason; this is bold, original contemporary fiction that sticks with you long after you've finished. If you enjoy authors like Jenny Offill, Ottessa Moshfegh, or even early Sheila Heti, but want something with more warmth and whimsy, pick this up. Easily one of the standout reads of the year for me – quirky, wise, and deeply human.

NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE "NORMAL" BOOKS
Nice book, great writing, in a very original way. Not good for People who likes stories normally told.
