![The Beatles' Second Album[LP]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Fz4a5fHvL.jpg)

Using the original 1964 mono master, new lacquers have been cut all-analogue by Kevin Reeves at Nashville's East Iris Studios. By constantly referring to the original first pressing, the album is faithful to the original release while also enabling more musical information to be heard than was possible before. Featuring faithfully replicated artwork and a new four-panel insert with essay by American Beatles historian, Bruce Spizer. 180-gram audiophile pressing. Review: Terrific reissue of the Beatles “second” album. - The Beatles Second Album? Well kind of. Their third American album release was (it was preceded by both “Introducing The Beatles” from Vee Jay and “Meet The Beatles” on Capital) sounds terrific. Yes, it is just a collection of material from the UK albums but and, yes, it truly wasn’t an album as The Beatles might have made it (neither was “Meet” which added singles to the material from the second Uk album “With The Beatles”) BUT it was a terrific collection of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Dave Dexter Jr did slice and dice The Beatles albums for U.S. release (after rejecting them for U.S. release not once, not twice but three times for their singles). Yes, he used heavy handed compression to adapt for the U.S. market but it worked for this material. It captured the raw feel of what they might have sounded like live. This is an excellent pressing-quiet, well pressed and the packaging expertly replicates the original release from 1964 except it sounds better. There’s a nice analog warmth here and pressing quality. The remastering sounds quite good as well. All in all, this is terrific. Is it a cash grab? Absolutely but it is one that is worth it. Review: It’s the Beatles… it’s already good! - Great sounding pressing! Really love how sturdy the vinyl feels and it’s loud! The extra liners notes are also fun.

Beatles 2nd Album HQ reissue
LOVE IT. Brings back early memories because I had my 1st copy in 1978, as 13 year old. High quality vinyl!

C'mon, it's the Beatles!
I know they come in a big box of 8 records, but I just like having the individual albums, which remain factory sealed. I was around 7 when the Beatles broke into America, and I had Meet The Beatles right off. Having the various singles from VJ and Swan, the overall collection didn't appeal to me. In fact, it was one of the last Beatles albums I bought to complete my collection after 1970. Back then, I only bought the albums that I liked. This is a nice keepsake.

Excellent effort!
When I heard these Capitol Beatles albums were being reissued from the US tapes I was expecting a cash grab of sorts. I expected a rush job with poor mastering and noisy vinyl. To my surprise it’s evident they really went the extra mile for these. The pressing quality is top notch quiet and flat. The mastering is quite well done overall for what it is. These albums were mastered from tapes that are several generations removed from the UK tapes. Even so they still sound really good. It’s cut hot and sounds like you’d expect. There’s minor distortion on the cymbals at times but I’m assuming that’s on the tapes. Overall I’d recommend these to someone who likes the US orientation of these early Beatles records. I hope one day the original UK albums are reissued (all analog) but in the meantime these will do!

My fav of the bunch. Does not have the skips as mentioned in the 1964 box sets.

Best sounding Beatle Lp's that I have!
I am a collector and I have 100's of Beathes, including the numbered box sets. I will be copying this review 6 times because all 6 of the 64 capital records in Mono are great! I was shocked when it first started to play, The energy was there, like the first time I heard them, I was 10 in "64". The sound is strong on the vocals and Ringo's cymblas are out front, he is rockin' the drums! Like they always did, they were a live band! The pressing was great, dead quiet. The packaging is first rate! The sound was all great, in your face sound! Like a 45 rpm was playing, with that deep groove sound. A "Hot Stamper" sound.

So, die erste Ladung der „neuen“ Capitol-Alben ist heute eingetroffen. SOMETHING NEW wird nächste Woche folgen. Stabile Innen- und Außenhüllen, Hochglanzcover, alle LPs mit einigen historischen Hintergrundgeschichten vom großen Bruce Spizer. TOP!!

Great collectors item that i waited till the price dropped a bit before purchasing ,i also got the rest of the series, because there is nothing that is not already available but its nice to have the new remaster. The music neeeds no comment as everyone knows it is excellent. The records were thankfully well packed,by amazon, which is a good job a the outer box looked as if it had been kicked here by the courier (a 3rd party delivery company).

The only vinyl lp i never owned by the Beatles. It was out of print in 1970s or the copies were not nice or in stereo. Or I told myself i will get it later than sooner. I own the two cds anthologies of the USA Capitol. But this was my first on vinyl since it came out in 1964! I always loved this lp. People criticize the US lps, but i love them. This one is exquisite. The sound is crisp. I sensed what I sensed back in 1964 or 1965! A good feeling. A homey feeling. Away from all the hype of later years. The lp is warped a little. I don't mind, it plays ! And gave me such pleasure listening to it on earphones!!! Loved it! P
