Really solid mouse - getting used to it hasn't been too difficult
edit: I liked using the trackball so much I upgraded to the logi MX ergo and use the M575S for my laptop. I stand by everything I said here - but the MX feels better in nearly every way... clickier buttons, nicer plastic, smoother rolling, metal stand (except feeling a bit smaller in the palm and needing a pen to pop out the ball) however - it is twice the price, of course, but I would consider it.Build quality is great - good enough weight to stay put. Plastic feels nice, slightly grippy and semi-matte (not that shiny cheap black plastic you find on many mice). Buttons and wheel feel nice, but the buttons are on the softer, quieter side in terms of clicking (totally functional, just to know if you prefer a thick click). The ball is fairly heavy and rolls nicely. I am surprised how precise and fast it can be - so much so it takes some getting used to in addition to being a new way of moving a mouse for me. Still, it's definitely usable for most tasks while in the learning process. It's nice not having to change mouse sensitivity, instead doing it intuitively with the ball. The only issue is logitech's software. The mouse runs perfectly fine without it, but if you want the extra options just be aware that logi control is poorly maintained software that has an installation issue, apparently worse on macs, and I'm still jumping through hoops getting it to work on pc. For some it just installs fine, for whatever reason. To be honest that's kind of expected with hardware apps these days.

Really quiet
No more clicking sounds...was kinda weird at first but now I truly appreciate the quiet click.

works well...wish rechargeable..
it doesnt need a usb receiver, thus freeing up the use of one of the laptop ports. Good sized (maybe more suited for those with larger palms) and works better without having to fiddle with their app. At the price point, would have preferred a rechargeable mouse. Less expensive versions (around 30-35) are available that are rechargeable and have built in receiver for BT. Paying up for the brand, but performance and sturdiness seems comparable to a 30$ similar "off-brand" product - except the cheaper one has less recycled material and is a bit smaller.

Excellent mouse for a cramped desk. Takes a little getting used to at first.
As with all trackball mice, these will take a little bit of getting used to at first. For the first few days I was slower and less accurate with the mouse pointer compared to a standard mouse. However, after getting used to the trackball, I actually find it to be somewhat more accurate than a regular mouse now. The ball has a nice smooth feeling, and glides well. The ball has a nice solid feeling that makes it easy to roll around. I got the graphite colored mouse with the blue ball, and the color scheme looks excellent. This mouse is operated only with the ball. It does not have an optical sensor on the bottom, and is designed to stay in one place when it is used. It has dense rubber feet on the bottom that do a good job at keeping it from moving around as you use it. This makes it a great option for a desk that is small with not much space to move a typical mouse around. I work in electronics repair, and use this mouse with my laptop at my workstation. I have limited space at my workstation, and need to use as much of it as possible for working on repairs. This mouse does not need a mousepad at all, and only takes up a few inches of my workspace. One thing I notice right away, is the left and right click buttons on this mouse have an extremely soft click feeling. Sometimes I will click it and not even notice that I pressed the button. I personally like this, as it takes almost no effort to register a click. It is nearly silent when clicking and has almost no perceptible clicky feeling. The mouse features two buttons next to the left click button for navigating back and forth through web pages. The function of these buttons can be re-mapped using the Logitech software. Battery life has been great so far, I’ve been using it for a month connected directly via Bluetooth and it shows no signs of being anywhere close to low on battery. It comes included with one AA battery, and it’s a good name brand one too. The ball pops out with a little pressure from the bottom, and is easy to clean. This is an optical type trackball mouse, so if you are having issues with the cursor making erratic movements, cleaning the ball and the clear optical sensors in the ball housing will usually bring it back to normal. The included USB dongle stores away inside the battery compartment so it doesn’t get lost, which is a very nice feature for any wireless mouse. If the receiver is lost, a new one can be paired up to the mouse, so you are not completely out of luck. The receiver is a newer style than the older unifying receivers you will be used to if you have had Logitech mice and keyboards in the past. The new receivers can pair up to six devices, either mouse or keyboard. Overall, I am really happy with this mouse, and I would definitely recommend trying it out. It is much more efficient than a standard mouse if you have limited space.

It doesn't hold a candle to my MX Ergo
This breaks my heart. I got excited because I thought this was a good successor to my MX Ergo. But the dongle range won't reach as far (TV to couch), the lack of the adjustable / weighted base means you gotta be a little more careful to not move it around, and overall it just feels cheaper. I do like the use of a AA battery because I hate having a dead mouse, but I know some people don't like that. AA NiMH battery and built in charging would be the right choice. But.... it's not appreciably better than the $15 wired one I have. If you double price for wireless and a little more for being Logitech, it's probably priced right. I just wanted more.
