I keep this on my desk at work for quick games when we have a moment to relax. I like that one unit can provide so many options. Connect 4 is most popular, but its fun to switch it up. It is solid enough, but some of it feels 'cheap'. It was fun to pop all of the discs out of the wooden board though, so I can't complain.

Got this for a 6 year old who’s taken an interest in chess. He’s loved it and it’s nice that he can take a break with other games.My 4 year old also likes joining in on the puck game.The whole family has had a lot of fun with it.It’s well-made and I can see it lasting for years. The size is maybe slightly smaller than other chess boards but not by much.I’d say the price matches the quality and I’d recommend this set to others!

We travel a lot and this game set is a super easy way to travel with multiple games in a small package. The set really should be advertised as 6-in-1 (or more). It includes Chess, Checkers, Connect 4, Shut the Box, Gomoku (also called 5 in a Row), and a sling puck game.I would be remiss not to mention that there are actually a TON of other games that can be played using the individual components within "the box" (such as the checkerboard, wooden checkers, the dice, etc). I intend to toss a deck of cards into the box for even more entertainment on the go.The box is a fairly basic construction and it was definitely not finished to perfection. When it arrived, the checkerboard surface, which is made of an engineered wood (fiberboard), had some pre-existing scuffs around the edges. I'm also not impressed by the flimsy plastic closure — it's effective, but it opens easily. Regardless, at this price point, I wasn't expecting a high end game fit for a display case. Instead, I wanted numerous games we could easily toss into the trunk and hit the road... and this fits the role perfectly.At the end of the day, this compact box of games is a perfect option for travel. I plan to pack it in the car or camper for every road trip.

I got this to save room when we go on trips. The pieces are well built and the set seems sturdy enough to last a long time. I'd recommend this board game set for anyone looking to save a little space.

This set includes a wooden box with a fiberboard sliding lid that has an 8x8 grid painted on the wood grain plastic coating.Inside the box are a pair of 6 sided die, a bunch of red and blue discs, a set of chess pieces, some elastic bands, a wooden divider, a connect-4 grid, and a score keeper type thing. There is also an instruction manual that details 5 games you can play: Chess, connect 4, sling puck, close the boxes, and connect 5. Basic rules are provided for some of these games, and a web reference is provided for chess.Now, I don't know why the listing mentions checkers and the game instructions replace that with connect 5, but both games can be played just fine with this set. So they could have claimed it as a 6-in-1 set instead of 5-in-1.The quality of all of this is fairly low, but not so low that it couldn't last quite some time with basic care. Certainly not low enough to interfere with use. We tried all of the games and connect 4 was a bit wobbly but still playable. The other games were all fine. The wood box itself is the nicest part but is unfinished and would probably last longer with a bit of wax or something applied. That said, nothing about this is heirloom grade or even close.It's a nice set to have tucked away in case the power goes out. Unfortunately, it might be a challenge to get a kid to play these games if they have an ipad or have encountered modern board games, but they can still be fun.

Why have one board game when instead can have five options to choose from. My ladylove and I enjoy having some friendly competition that's also great to have dialogue over. This is a great and fun way to have couple's quality time outside the bedroom. My inner sapiosexual greatly approves this 5-in-1 board game.

If you are building a board game collection, then this would be a worthy addition. Included is chess, checkers, connect four and more. Its pressed board construction is a bit clunky, but makes an adequate storage box for all the game accessories. This thing is hours of fun and has a variety of games to choose from. I really like that the instructions are clear.
