5 stars right now, but i will come back and update if it doesn't make it through at least a year with my Siberian Husky and "deduct points".Love that it's leather, though it's not the highest quality leather it doesn't really feel super cheap either, and at this price point it's meeting my expectations. I love the hands free feature, as well as the fact that when used as a regular lead it's longer at 8 feet. I am not having any of the issues with it that others have talked about. No staining on my hands, no rancid smell (slight chemical smell, but only when pressed up to my nose), the one I received is in fact 8 feet long as advertised too. Idk if other reviewers received versions from other suppliers or what, but this thing is exactly as advertised and feels about the quality you would expect at this price point. It works great as a long lead, or a hands free lead that's a bit shorter, which is nice for longer walks.So far I love it, so as long as it doesn't break on me within a year (and a Husky will definitely test it!) I will leave this as a 5 star review.

I thought when I first saw it that it would be terrible for my 90lbs shepherd but honestly it’s the BEST light weight leash I could’ve asked for. I bought a separate attachment for a traffic handle that extends the leash 4ft and gives me a handle to hold my dog close when I need it. Carrying it is a breeze compared to the hefty KONG leash I was using before with the same hands free tech. I will say your dog should be leash trained if it’s big like mine or you’ll have a hard time but this leash is also perfect for small dogs. Very versatile. I’ve used it as a head collar(figure 8), a slip lead, a hands free leash attached to collar/harness and just your standard leash. Has nice bounce to absorbs shock when dog pulls and comfortable grip. Durable and functional.

I've owned this leash for two years and used it as both a single and dual lead to walk my standard schnauzer and maltese with fairly great results. I chose it for aesthetics and better control while training them to walk together. It's worked very well on both points.Despite being 1/2 inch in width the leather is fairly thick and can handle both dogs pulling simultaneously but, i would definitely invest in the thicker version if either of your dogs is over 40lbs or a bully strength puller. I used it to walk my neighbor's elderly pitbull and even doubled up, it was a tense 20 minutes feeling the leather actually stretch whenever she pulled.The leather takes some uses to soften but the patina of the leather and hardware ages beautifully. The clasps are heavier than expected but the hardware is a nice quality. The one thing I'm not a fan of is the loose ring as it really doesn't help with keeping the lead snug when wearing it as a crossbody/belt and it can pinch your arm something gnarly when it tightens. Despite this, i absolutely recommend this leash.

So ive just received the leash , ive a Cheagle 25 lbs. Non puller well she is a Service Dog so heals n walks at my pace no matter what, i have been trying to find that "perfect " hands free n possible leather ( ^$ , kept me searching) leash so ive got the bungee ended and its give was good n bad as she didn't know that shed gone to far on "normal " walks n the bungee doesn't hold its size , stretching more n more...that said i was concerned about the quality and if this would happen due to the lower $ , the conversion is awesome and can go many different ways over the shoulder/ cross body is best , while if you prefer around the waist i wouldn't get this one as u cant fix the ring in one spot , u could loop it through belt loops, but some clothes don't have those ....so as its been used for one walk only i can say its good for me , its actually a really nice looking, and very supple leather leash for under 50 $ if u have a bigger, heavier puller i dont think itd hold up long , this ones truly for the very well trained healers , however if ur dogs not a puller its awesome and id recommend it , or even if a thicker one is available id get that for bigger dogs ...ur boxers , stafies , labs , sheps its just again id worry about the puller only as it would stretch n if it did it could snap, so if u have a puller check on a thicker cut , otherwise I love it it is soft n supple , no waiting to wera it in the colors a deep rich one n is complimented with the hooks n rings....5 * for now should we have issue ill be back ...*Edit ...i love this leash we've had some time to use , n ive been using to more then id actually gotten it for "outings " shopping , drs .etc shes a S.D n i find im using it more n more for our normal walks as its super functional, tho i still stress that it is not a good idea to use with a larger , or a pulling dog , its thin n u would see stress on the leather and should go a size uo , my girls 25 pounds beagle & shes not a puller tho she is a sniffer on normal walks n i can adjust the leash to allow this , craftsmanship is good , it could be better with rivets maybe as ive noticed stress on the sewing, its an easy fix wither leather knowledge

Good:1. Great Design2. Soft Supple Leash. Feels like my leather leashes that took years to get this comfortable.3. Nice Length4. Low CostBad:1. Single Stich on the leather2. Smells like neatsfoot oil3. Brass Hardware not as robust as other leashes but should last as long as the leash.For the price it is a ok leash as long as you don't expect it to last a dogs lifetime with daily use. The leash smells of Neatsfoot oil which made it very soft. If it was oiled it will get slippery when it gets wet but I have not walked in the rain with it yet to verify this. The leash is nice and worth the money but is not a professional quality dog leash. If cost is an issue the leash is a decent choice. If you have high expectations for a quality leather leash then look elsewhere. I use dog leashes daily as a dog trainer and would be happy to spend much more money for a quality leash but most people don't walk their dogs much and this leash will work fine.

Probably the best dog leash I have ever owned. I saw someone else using this style leash when our dog was learning obedience. We have a 50# boxer/lab mix and I use this all the time when I walk her in crowded areas. I can walk her hands free, or hold the leash, or use it as a regular leash. She walks on it very well (yes, that has to do with her training), and the leash is very comfortable for me to use. Great when I go into the local home improvement store, as I can reach up a grab things and not worry about having to hold a leash, or walking her while drinking my coffee.

Very nice leash. Appears to be made out of good quality leather. The stitching is fine at this time, but I have not had opportunity to use it much yet. I will update later if it fails. I do wish it was a little wider to make gripping a little easier, but my dog is small so it's not really an issue. It is just more of comfort in the hand preference for me.

Only just received the leash so can't comment on durability, but if it's strong enough to conto my boy, it had to be good! Leather already soft enough not to be harsh on hands with a pulling dog.

This leash is great. Exactly what I was looking for and quality is fantastic. I walk my 77lbs (35kg) Pitbull with this leash no problem. Leather is durable and soft and all stitching is well done. I will be buying another for my daughters dog

This dog leash is nice because it's leather but it's not really practical. It may be better to use with multiple dogs but it is very long and I find it tricky to get it at the right length and there's no real handle on it. If you have more than one dog, it may be useful. If you have only one dog I wouldn't bother.

This is an excellent leather leash. Hard to find them this long. I substituted this for my retractable leash as I found I didn’t always have control.The leather is nice quality.
