A good ophthalmologist I saw about thirty or more years ago said my eyes were in great shape and that her schooling had emphasized that take 6 mg of Lutein every day did wonders for preserving eye health. So I began and have taken the same dosage and usually the same company ever since. My last ophthalmology appointment was last year and he was surprised and impressed by the health of my eyes despite my having been in a severe accident forty years ago which actually left my right eyeball out of it socket and on my cheek. I'm just as surprised as the doctor was because I thought the accident was going to mean continuing diminishment of eye health.

The last Carlson I had was a bottle of orange flavored fish oil. Sounds funny, but it was ok. So my impression is that they make good products.My ophthalmologist recommended 6 mg of Lutein every day. My opinion as a professional electronics engineer is that a couple more milligrams than that couldn't hurt.

It's easy to swallow and is a 6 months supply.
