Poor durability
This worked initially out of the box, it makes ice cubes as fast as they claim. However, there's a single element of bad design that means it won't last very long. The paddle that lifts the completed ice cubes has hinges at both sides, but only motorised from one side. This makes it rotate, get stuck and start skipping teeth on the motor. Once it starts happening, it gets more and more frequent until it stops working at all.

Great ice maker
The media could not be loaded. The amount of times I have been to the supermarket during a hot summer and found they have no ice cubes - not a problem anymore. This ice cube maker is brilliant - it is so eay to use.Once the packaging is removed it takes a few minutes to orient yourself about the workings and you are ready to go. Basically you need to make sure the rubber plug is securely in the bottom and you just fill the tank up to the max mark, fit the ice basket and turn the machine on. You need to decide which sized cubes you want but to be honest there isn't a huge difference between them but the smaller ones take less time to make, if that's a consideration. The size can be changed 'on the fly' so if you need ice cubes now you can start with small and then move to large once you have a buffer. From a cold(or warm start) I found the first ice cubes were dispensed at the 10 minute mark - which I find amazing. The unit has sensors to warn when the water tank has run low and also when the ice box needs emptying. Although I haven't tested it, this unit suggests it can make 500g ice per hour which will keep any gathering I have going all night and into the small hours.I'm delighted and can recommend.

Not as good as I thought it would be!
Why did you choose this product over others?:I chose this product because the reviews were very good and I felt as I have a small kitchen it would work on my counter. So the good things are that it looks nice, it’s easy to use, it’s quiet and it fitted on my counter top! Now for the not so good things! The point of this is to make ice quickly. And for almost £100 you would think it would do that. The problem is it only makes 8-9 ice cubes at a time. It’s not as fast as you would think it is! The ice cubes, even the large ones are very small with a hole in the middle of them which means they melt extremely fast in your drinks. To get a good amount of ice cubes you will need to run this machine all day! And I’m not sure how much electricity that will take. I've even tried putting the ice cubes in a bag and putting them in the freezer but they tend to break into even smaller pieces when you do that and you are still taking up room in your freezer for a bag of ice. Before this I just used the ice bags from the supermarket and filled them up with water and they lay flat in the freezer. I found although this was not as quick, it is a better solution for me. Hence I am returning this machine!
