Just what I expected
I needed this to replace a melted fuse holder on a tyre pump. Not especially remarkable quality, but the cap is tight, and it did the job as expected. No complaints at this price.

Does the job
I ordered for 10awg but got 12awg instead warms up after 5a countinous which implies this is not a true 12awg cable too use it only for light loads

Used this on an aftermarket car amp rated at 80A. Worked well, easy to crimp a lug onto one end and a crimp sleeve on the other. Sturdy and well made cap.

I didn't actually need the super heavy duty 8-gauge unit. But I had trouble with some more flimsy inline fuses, so I decided to go for the heavy duty 8-gauge. I only need 30 amps, so I had to buy the correct fuse separately. The specs do say that the 8-gauge units use "MAXI" fuses, but I didn't know what they were. Well, the MAXI fuses are indeed quite large. Over an inch square. I didn't have any fuses like that, so I had to buy some. The legs are each about 4" to 5" each side. Some people might find that shorter than they might have wanted, but sufficient for my application. Before receiving my 30-amp fuses, I did practice insertion with the 80-amp fuses included with the product. It takes some effort to insert, and I bent the legs on one of my 80-amp fuses. Good thing I practiced with the fuses I don't actually need. But I found that if you just press the fuse firmly but hold it straight, it really isn't that hard to insert. If you have tiny hands or arthritis, perhaps you might get someone to help. I got my 30-amp fuse installed and I'm sure that it will be very secure. So, I have no problem with the fuse insertion. One user complained that the two connectors that the fuse slide into were not perfectly aligned parallel, adding to the difficulty in fuse insertion. And in fact, if you look at the picture here, of the units for standard fuses, it shows that exact problem! But the connectors for the Maxi fuse version do not have that problem, the connectors are directly in line. They are parallel and I'm able to insert the fuse with a little elbow grease. Another user complained that one of his two units were defective but both of mine look perfect. I only need one, so I paid for a second unit that I don't need. But I would have been willing to pay double for just one given how rock solid these seem to be. After purchasing this product, I notice that Bussman makes a similar product but with 6-gauge wire. Perhaps that would be even better. But the reviews were somewhat mixed. If I was really needing 80-amps or thereabouts, I think that getting the Bussman with 6-gauge wire would probably be warranted. But since I'm only using 30 amps, and these look solid, I will stick with it. Amazon suggests I comment about water tightness. That isn't important for my application, but they do seem to be watertight to me. Not sure it would be applicable to being regularly submerged, but I'm sure it could handle some rain easily. I haven't put a wire gauge on it to verify for sure, but the wires do feel like they are 8-gauge thick. One review of a similar product said they didn't get the advertised wire size. But these seem like the real deal. I guess I won't know for sure how good these are until I've had it installed a while, but my initial impression is perfect, couldn't be happier.
