Superfoods book
I borrowed this book from a friend, when I was suffering from gallstones. There are a lot of varied types of superfoods, and some relate to specific complaints - such as asparagus is good for liver problems, almonds aid digestion, and radishes are good for gallbladder problems. There are diets for allergies, cancer, circulatory problems, convalescence just to mention a few.Well worth getting, if you like cooking from fresh, but some of the ingredients are bit way out, such as pot barley, instead of pearl barley, I could not get that even from my excellent health food shop.

Superfoods
I first saw this book at a friend's house. I had recently changed my eating habits of a lifetime:e.g Meat , roast spuds and two veg followed by sponge pudding and custard(lots) for a more healthy fish chicken and fruit and veg diet. Depending on your health problem the book offers advice as to the most helpful foods ,but it is essentially a cook book. It is strange learning a different way to cook at my time of life (late 60's) but it is certainly working. A clearly set out book to browse and enjoy and hopefully improve your health!

Great book
Excellent book. Full of very informative and relevant information about nutrition. diet and the benefits of different types of foods even though it was published in 1990.All the recommendations being given in the new superfood books are in this book and it gives diet plans to help the major health problems ; cancer, obesity, depression and many more. Like one of the other reviewers said it should definitely be re-published with a few more colour photographs perhaps. bought a used copy and am thrilled with it.

Great book!
While this book provides excellent guidance on what not to eat when trying to resolve specific issues (such as stress and fatigue) it also gives helpful tips on the key foods to eat for a healthy and balanced diet. The recipe ideas are also useful to follow as these give a practical guide in how to incorporate foods in to a healthy eating plan.

Very useful I had this book years ago but someone borrowed it and forgot to return it !I am happy to have a new copy.
