A great tablet! I eventually traded in my old kindle for a more up to date one and am SO pleased I did! Not only is the larger screen easier to use but the higher RAM and memory allows me to download more stuff, makes the device far quicker and really gives you a great choice of apps you can have. As well as reading books and going online, I use the kindle for watching TV and films as it's compatible with the Sky Go and Disney+ apps as well as Amazon Prime and the screen quality is great! A versatile and adaptable tablet for everything from reading books to gaming to watching films. Highly recommend!

Love the kindle fire. Purchased this as an upgrade to an old kindle fire I’ve had for years. The battery life is much better!Great for reading, but also good to have the option to use for browsing the internet & watching shows/films on different apps too whilst travelling. Purchased 2 as I also gifted one, given that I love mine so much!I love reading a physical book - but the kindle offers a way to read books for less money (especially if you read a lot). Well worth having kindle unlimited too, as there’s a good range of books to read for ‘free’ at the monthly fee.

I bought this on a whim as the Prime day price was hard to ignore. It will replace a clunky old Samsung which was getting slower by the day. The Fire tab is so much better in every possible way, simple and quick to set up and does everything I want from a tab for next to no money. Absolutely brilliant in my honest opinion though I haven’t ( and won’t) use it for streaming or gaming but for browsing etc I can’t fault it.

I previously owned an earlier version of the Fire 8 tablet, which had slowed down, was very well worn and really needed replacing. I only use it for browsing, reading and a bit of online shopping, so I don't need anything other than a very basic tablet, which this is but for my needs it's ideal, especially as I used trade in option with a limited time offer which made the cost only £35. (not sure I would want to pay the full price as the Amazon operating system has definite limitations on app availability unless you're comfortable sideloading Google Play).It's not lightening fast, for the price I wouldn't expect it to be-but it's absolutely fine for browsing etc. and definitely better than my previous tablet. It wouldn't be suitable for someone who wants something to multi task or play games, but for the price I paid, I don't think there's anything comparable. It's lightweight and the size makes it easy to hold and stick in a bag or pocket.Be aware that if you want it for things like online banking, for example, you won't find the necessary apps in Amazon's own app store, so check before buying if particular apps are necessary to you.

My old iPad was getting long in the tooth and I was finding it hard to justify £400 for something which I mainly use to read newspapers and magazines on.It was on deal at the time so for £50 I thought it’s worth giving it a go. I added a paper like screen protector and it’s actually really impressive.I’m also far less precious about it as the back is hard plastic, I don’t think it would replace an iPad for serious users but for general media consumption it’s fab.

Easy to set up and buy books to read. Compact size makes it easy to carry around. Adverts not that intrusive.

It struggles when using TikTok, crashes quite often, good picture but not all that much , only can download apps from them, no google or YouTube ( yes, you can download a similar one, but is not the same), since buying it I keep getting scam phone calls allegedly from Amazon, thank god I bought it cheap, because I do regret buying it. Speed is not good, like I said, it gets sluggish with some apps, the decent ones you can download. The choice in games is not great. I suppose I can use it as a book reader nicely. You definitely get what you pay for, so my advice would be to do some more research and get something else
