Fantastic
Lovely sound and gets loud enough to upset the neighbours! Gets a little fizzy on the ultra gain with the gain turned up high, but the sweet spot before that is very nice. Classic gain channel is actually cleaner than expected, but welcome. Reverb works well to. Using this with an epi les Paul standard ptp.

Marshall Amp
This is my first valve amp, I always wanted one and it’s a nice small size and more than enough for me- I’m simply a bedroom guitarist enthusiast. I craved the fresh clean tone of the Marshall and wasn’t disappointed. It’s a two channel amp, comes with foot switch and can be used on top of a cabinet speaker. It has reverb and overdrive controls via gain knobs but no other effects. For me that’s what I was after. I’m happy to add pedals to suit. If you are looking for multi effects in an amp, perhaps consider something else in the range. Quality piece of kit and real punchy sound.

Sweet little box of fun
Full disclosure: I haven’t had this long; don’t have years of playing tube amps behind me; don’t rehearse with a band or gig; and I didn’t buy mine from Amazon. That out of the way, this is a smashing amp and - to my ears, anyway - a great upgrade from my previous solid state practice modelling amp. I was a bit nervous about buying a Marshall - my musical taste is more Brian May than Ritchie Blackmore, even if I can’t play like either of them - but I wanted a reasonably priced valve amp with an effects loop and attenuation, as I am a bedroom player. I needn’t have worried - not only does the DSL fit the bill, but it also has a lovely, lovely clean tone (as well as filth in spades, if that’s your thing). It’s also beautifully built and presented and - nice touch - the supplied foot switch feels solid, dependable and gig-ready, rather than the tatty plastic affair that you might expect to get with a small practice amp. Recommended, especially if you have modulation and delay effects pedals that you want after the dirt in your signal chain.
