Very good, not perfect, daily watch for the price
I agree with the reviewer who says the only real defect with this watch is the lack of contrast between the hands and the face. The reason seems to be that Timex decided to go with a lume on the hands, which is decent lume but black hands would be even more visible, esp with the indiglo. As it is, the watch is a bit hard to read at a glance in low light, or even in the dark with the indiglo. Oh, and the strap seems designed to be replaced, which is fine. All that being said, I like everything else about it. And for those who have heard about how loud cheap Timex watches are -- that may be true in general, but this one is quiet. Overall a winner, esp given the price.

So many good things about this watch except the hands
I am a watch person, and though I have some unique and fancy watches, my Timex watches are my #1 choice for everyday wear. They are durable, keep good time, and inexpensive. This watch caught my eye because I had never seen one like it anywhere else. It was a unique face design. It had everything I was looking for in a watch, including:* 36mm case size, perfect for my smaller wrists, and the watch does not look dainty, it's big enough to make the face markings readable but without looking bulky, but not so big that the crown scratches up the back of my hand by my wrist. 36mm case sizes are hard to find. Most are 40mm or more, which are too big for comfort for me, or they are some kind of miniature women's case sizes because I guess women have magnifying vision?* Indiglo. I have yet to find a dial illumination that compares, especially in this price range.* Second hand. Not all watches have them.* Crown function that lets you set the date independently from the time* Movement is not made in China (it's Philippines)* Glass crystalSo what is the down side? It's the watch hands. Unlike some other Timex models where the hour and minute hands are the same color as the face and impossible to read, this one has hands that are the same color but are outlined in black. It's still not enough to easily differentiate the hands from the face. Maybe I am old and my eyesight is failing, but I really struggle to quickly glance at this watch and discern what time it is in a split second like you want in a watch. I have to take a second to really focus and figure out where the hands are or use the Indiglo even in well-lit conditions just to backlight the dial so I can see where the hands are. I believe the hands are supposed to be luminescent, but the luminescence is weak and there is Indiglo anyway, so, the negatives of this color scheme on the hands outweighs the luminescence feature. I am hoping I will get used to this in time and be able to read the time more easily, because EVERYTHING else about this watch is great--except for the ease of quickly telling the time.

Nice luminescence.
This particular Timex has good luminescence such that you might not need to use the Indiglo. The 36mm case size is just right — not too big or too small for an adult wrist. Quite happy with the purchase.

Nice little field watch
Nice little watch. I was looking for a simple 36mm field watch with date display. It feels sturdy and well made. Love the colors and Indiglo is a great feature also. I only rate it with a 4 because the strap seems a bit on the cheap side and I have a feeling it wont last that long. Still, I believe it’s a great watch or the price.
