Spellbound Sweets: A Samantha Sweet Halloween Novella (Samantha Sweet Magical Cozy Mysteries)

Love this series. Easy to read and fun! I hope she continues them in the future. I started to read them since I am a baker.

It’s Halloween time in Taos lots of activity going on in the business section of town where Sweet Sweet’s is located. Samantha and her crew are preparing lots of treats for Halloween in addition to the usual Wedding and Birthday Orders. Next door at Mysterious Happenings the bookstore is having a Halloween party with the theme of mystery characters. At the party a light goes out, a light comes on a dead body is found. Nice side story of a book possibly a very valuable book of Witches Incantations and Spells. Sam even gets to do a little more then just standing around or doing research for her sheriff husband Beau. This book like all Connie Shelton Books I recommend Connie has a way with character believability even the minor ones that only have a peripheral part to play. Great Book, Great Read Loved It

Samantha has a murder and a book theft to solve. I like the plot. There are several suspects. The story kept me guessing. Included are 10 recipes.

I am a “Sweetacholic”. I am addicted to this series. First, it’s nice to have a main character who is not a 20 something year old, but a mature woman. Next, she & the sheriff work together peacefully, no threats about meddling. In fact the sheriff, who just happens to be her younger husband, deputized her to assist in the investigation. And lastly, most of her investigation is done through good detective work, not running off constantly getting herself in danger, at least for the most part. I also would love to get my hands on her mysterious energy box. It is an absolutely awesome item. Add in some delicious recipes at the end & you have a not to be missed read.

Another wonderful book by Connie Shelton. I would love to be able to join the book club...how fun and the chocolate treats a bonus. I would love to have Samantha as a friend and would visit her bakery often. Just a bit of paranormal about the wooden box...always interesting. Really enjoyed the ending with the gathering of friends at Ivan's bookstore and the toast Samantha gave to her friends. Now waiting for the next.

I love Connie Shelton books in general. Her characters are so different but so realistic. This is a novella but it is a complete story. Based on a Halloween theme, it isn't spooky, instead it tells the story of a party and a murder that happens in it. Her romantic writer character (who deserves a book of his own) brings a rare and unusual witches spell book. It becomes a part of the story. Samantha's friend Ivan who runs a bookstore plays a big part. The whole story is magical without having 'other worldly' sequences. The ending is great and it provides a very satisfying ending.I cannot wait for the next book in any of her series.

I stumbled upon this series & quickly became hooked. I was able to connect to the characters & love the food, setting, & mysteries. This was another great addition to the series. I do wish there was more interaction with her jewelry box in this story & some mention of her chocolate business. Otherwise great story!

I chose 5 stars as I love these stories and the continuation of characters in these books! I like the new capers to solve and the magical box. Anyone wanting a little down home, small community with whimsical characters and action packed reading these are great reads. I know I can't wait for the next one! Oh and the recipes and food in the books an added bonus😊

This is yet again, a good piece from one of my favourite writers. I cannot get enough of this series, may they keep coming.It's as though I am getting to know each and every one of them personally.How mad is that, but it show's how well these books are written.

I really enjoy Connie Shelton's writing. Although not long books, I never feel short-changed. I enjoy her prose and story line.
