CanonRF28-70mm F2.8 is STM

Smaller and lighter than the 24-70mm L version. It’s worth the money in every way. I actually sold my L lens due to the extra weight. In my opinion, It’s just as sharp, stabilized well, and performs perfectly. Yes, we lose 4mm of width, but in the scheme of things, it doesn’t effect the use too much. In my case I also own a 14-35mm lens for super wide images. If I have one fault with it, it’s the expanding the lens to 28mm notch prior to being able to use the lens. I realize however that this design is why the lens can remain so compact in a backpack. It’s a very minor issue.

It's a good lens, nice and sharp, relatively light weight. I hold my camera for hours at a time, so I didn't want one of the big, heavy L series zoom lenses. The autofocus works perfectly. They say it creates a lot of distortion, but I have Lightroom set to do lens corrections when I import the images from the memory card, so honestly I can't say how much there is. It stays on my R62 almost all the time now.

This is the perfect general-purpose lens for my R8 and RP. It has excellent center sharpness at 2.8 and a nice bokeh throughout the zoom range. Only gets 4 stars due to the hefty price tag and overall weight of the lens.

Beautiful and inexpensive lens compared to it's L brother.... small, compact, lightweight and gets the job done. Used it on first wedding and mannn....... i was blown away

this lens is a beautiful piece of work! As a beginner in photography, I wanted a lens that I could use as an all around general purpose lens & I finally have the 28-70mm ive been looking for but without having to pay the hefty price!

I purchased this lens for my trip to Japan and it never left the body. It’s a great lens for travel and all around use. Image quality is great and it’s half the price of the L series. I’m very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend!

This is an outstanding lens for it price. Weather sealed and produces outstanding image quality. I was a bit hesident before the purchase bur no regrets not. This lens will not disapoint...not an "L" series lens but build is excellent nd balances well on my Canon R6. Very pleased with the results of this purchase and dollars saved....image qualith is beautiful. You won't be disappointed.
