I love this brand. My first time trying anything by them even though it’s been in my cart for the longest time. It went on sale and I decided to treat myself to this piece of art. Well worth it!There are a few reasons I love it;1) Thoughtful packaging.One of the most annoying things when shopping online is when a company doesn’t take the proper steps to ensuring their product arrives to you in perfect condition. Yeah, it is partly Amazon’s job, but from the company to Amazon, that’s their reputation as a company for ensuring quality. The lipstick arrived in a beautifully designed box, and when you opened it there’s a thin layer of cardboard surrounding the actual lipstick. It was the first time I’ve seen it, and it really made me appreciate the company’s thoughtfulness.2) Every part of the product is beautiful. From packaging to lipstick canister... it’s a work of art. I know their mission is blending beauty with traditional Chinese art/ aesthetics and it’s no joke. This is nothing short of a masterpiece.3) The lid to the lipstick is magnetic. I think this is another clever and thoughtful design element. I don’t know if you have had a lipstick open in your purse and ruin EVERYTHING, but I have. It is a PAIN to clean out, I’m so sorry if you’ve experienced this too. What I like about this is, if you put it in your purse/pocket/stashie, you’ll never have to worry about it opening, breaking into bits, and ruining everything it comes in contact with. It’s also very satisfying to hold it and hear the metal click in place.4) It is actually moisturizing. It’s not a company that only does one thing well, design vs quality; it has both. The formula is moisturizing (at least for me) and I live in PA which means chapped lips. The color is pigmented you can build up as much color as you want though. The first time I only did one coat and it was a bit coral, then when I applied multiple coats it has a beautiful rouge color. I can’t really talk about longevity objectively because no matter what brand, lipstick usually lasts all day for me.I’ve talked a lot about it XD so if you’ve made it this far, I hope you can see why it’s worth buying~I enjoyed everything about this brand and when I save enough, that $108 kit of lipsticks will be mine (broke college student here).I would definitely recommend this to any makeup/ art lover~!

This is a quality product. A metal case, magnetized to stay closed. Packed inside a box with shrink wrap. The container itself is beautiful. The carving is lovely, but like a mandala drawn in sand, we know it can't last as we use it. Which is part of its beauty.The lipstick itself is really creamy, rich, the color not as dark as it seems in its tube. It really is as beautifully hazy and delicate on the lips as it is in the pictures. Only extend it as far as you must in order to use it. It's soft enough to break. If you want to just look at it, roll out the lipstick, but don't put it on that way. (It seems that some have not done this, and complain that it breaks. Of course it does, if it's extended all the way.)At any rate, for the money by far the best value I've had in a lipstick in a long time. So sick of cheap plastic lipstick cases.

I absolutely adore the case, the design is so beautiful and the magnetic cap is also very handy. However, the biggest downside for me was that it came broken and it almost looks like the section with the carving was a different piece compared to the part that is at the bottom. The color was a lot more red than I thought it would be, but I make it work just lightly patting it on and using lip gloss to make it look more like a red stain than actual lipstick. For the price it isn't bad and I will probably keep the casing to use later after I use it up.

of course, the packaging is a draw---it's beautiful. it also feels reasonably solid, and the lid snaps on nicely, so it won't fall off in your bag. the colour is gorgeous, a very wearable red even for ghost pale people like myself. it goes on matte, yet does not dry the lips. it wears really well, too; i applied it and wore it for a couple of hours, then brushed my teeth, and it was still there to a large degree. it is outperforming some of my much more expensive lipsticks. i'm super pleased with it and would happily purchase more of the catkin products in future.

Color was bright coral nothing like pics

This brand does a good job of making lipstick seem luxurious. The design elements are well above average. The lipstick is not moisturizing, but isn't as drying as some. Seconds after applying, there is very minimal transfer onto tissue when pressed moderately to lips. Overall, I'm happy with this lipstick.

This lipstick is beautifully craved and the color is good but there is no staying powerVery moisturized

The packaging, without a doubt, is absolutely stunning. The case is magnetized and shut very decisively and neatly. The art is enchanting and beautiful. The engraving on the lipstick is actually very, very cool. However, I wonder if the intricate design of the lipstick makes it more vulnerable to breakage because it was immediately upon opening. It jiggling around inside its casing and making a mess as it rolled around inside of it. I had to use extreme care when applying so it’s not to break it any further. Both lipstick showed up in this condition in this particular color.

This lipstick is beautiful!! I almost didn’t want to use it, it’s so beautifully carved. The color is wonderful. Very smooth and creamy, and lasts for hours.

Goes on smooth and looks beautiful on the lips

C'est un rouge à lèvre, il fait son travail. Pas eu l'occasion encore de le tester pour une journée entière mais pour une demi journée il tient et ne s'efface pas, étant mat il se fond parfaitement avec le reste du maquillage et les sculptures sont magnifiques.

Fuí a abrir el labial para ver como era y en cuanto saqué un poco el producto se partió por la mitad.Es bonito el color y los detalles, pero tan débil que se partió sin usarlo ni abrirlo bruscamente.

This lipstick is very pigmented! And it does stay, I've had it on for a few hours even after eating and drinking and it slightly came off but the color is so vibrant it still looks nice. I'd love to see more pinks or soft pinks from this collection!!
