Posi-tap Connector, 16-18 Gauge Wire

These things are great and easily tap right into existing wires with needle like penetration of the insulation. There are absolutely no bare wires showing. The down side is that most products have installation manuals that tell you not to use any sort of tap to do your wiring. The main reason I feel like I have to replace these with soldered connections is because I tapped 12 gauge ignition wires with 16 gauge Posi-taps.This was the fastest, least wire damaging way to set up my new car alarm and test it. I'm going to add a window module and try to solder all of the heavy gauge connections while I have the dash off one last time. The one minor down side is that it's easy to lose the tiny end pieces that pierce or connect the wires. I've got about three of them in my dash somewhere. The Posi-taps are not cheap.My experience with the smaller Posi-taps (red) was not as good. That's a separate review.

work great tapped in to car wire harness to install after market radio steering wheel control worked great no splicing the factory harness.

These have made my life so much easier when working under the hood and tapping into existing wires. Far easier to use than the standard side-by-side wire taps.

These things are expensive, but are the best non-solder connector made. They don't back off or get loose and make splicing into a factory wire super easy!

Super high quality wire taps for small gauge wire projects. These are the real Posi-taps, work great.

Extremely convenient alternative to soldering in harness. I used these tap my OEM harnesses. There so little slack in some harnesses that these are almost the only way to go. I should have got the next smaller size, but they worked well for my application.

This is certainly pricey compared to other options out there however I believed it was worth the money with the piece of mind nothing is coming apart.

[various sizes available]THE DETAILS:When I bought a new motorcycle, the first accessory I wanted to install was a (Garmin Zumo) GPS receiver. To connect the GPS to the motorcycle's power, I bought a couple of T-connectors at the local automotive store (similar to Install Bay 3M T-Tap Connector 16/14 Gauge - 100 Pack (Blue)). While this initially worked, vibration eventually made the connection intermittent.Sometime later, I discovered the Posi-tap connector, as a few of these were included in another aftermarket accessory (auxiliary brake light) I bought for the bike. Impressed with the robust connection, I did an online search and found these on Amazon. Rock solid after 2000 miles of riding.I intend to use Posi-tap connectors for all my wiring connections -- wish I'd invented 'em!
