Worth the money
I am a very happy Autobot. This is my second time ordering a transformer dvd on Amazon and I was not disappointed at all. I was a little skeptical because sometimes the dvd can come damage for the case but this time it came brand new seal still on and I never knew it was based in 2005 when I was born lul. But I'm beyond happy to watch it all. Thank you. Oh before I forget this is a 1986 movie. The songs are similar to bond Jovi style like the transformers movie song dare according to my mum idk who bond Jovi is so I'm putting it in the review. But it's a must buy for a transformer fan or someone who just getting started into learning about the autobots and decepticons.From- An autobot (D.p.p)

Transformers The Movie (1986) - Now everyone this is what you call a Transformers Movie.
In 8th of August 1986 (one day before the rock band Queen performed there last concert at Knebworth Park with the late great Freddie Mercury), Transformers The Movie exploded on to the cinema. Now everyone this is what you call a Transformers Movie, with all the Heroic Autobots and Evil Decepticons in there G1 glory, and not the horrifying and repulsive versions that Micheal “I hate the sucky G1 Verison, let’s create a bunch of horrifying robotic monsters” Bay created, and destroyed our favourite toy lines along with two of the worst wooden US actors in the world, please step forward Shia Le Beauf and Megan Fox. Enough said about that horrific movie franchise and it’s pointless sequels the better, let’s move on....The 1986 movie is one of the best, with great revamped Animation in 4K plus great HD sound it has produced this epic to it’s greatest G1 glory, and the voice cast of Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Frank Welker (Megatron, Soundwave, Rumble, Frenzy, etc), Gregg Burger (Grimlock), Dan Gilvezen (Bumblebee), and to the late Chris Latta (Starscream), Casey Kassam (Cliffjumper), and Scatman Crothers (Jazz) to the new comers of Brat Pack actor 'Judd Nelson' as 'Hot Rod', the late and great Star Trek\Mission:Impossible Actor 'Leonard Nimoy' as 'Galvatron', the late Airplane and the TV Series 'Untouchables' actor 'Robert Stack' as Ultra Magnus, the late 'Heart to Heart' actor 'Lionel Stander' as 'Kup', plus Monty Python’s 'Eric Idle' as 'Wreck-Gar', Transformers Series Regular 'Neil Ross' as 'Springer', 'The first Autobot Triple Changer', 'Guiness Book of Records' fastest talker 'John "Motormouth" Moschitta. Jnr' as 'Blurr', the new 'fastest Autobot', and 'Susan Blu' as 'Arcee', the first female Autobot (modelled on Maria the Android from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis) are excellent acted in their roles, but the crowning glory has to be the great actor 'Orson Welles' as The Great Destroyer 'Unicron'. This was the last film that both Orson Welles and Scatsman Crothers ever done, both actors sadly passed away within 2 to 6 months before the movie release. This is a glorious tribute for the actors who are sadly not with us. As the 35th Anniversary coming up in 2021, I would love to see a Director’s cut of Transformers The Movie including the scenes that they have cut out reanimated such as the battle scenes with Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, Red Alert and Tracks against the Constructicons, and other scenes that didn’t make it into the movie. And now Amazon UK has now beginning to distribute Transformers MP17+ Prowl. I would like Amazon UK to start distributing Transformers MP14+ Red Alert (money being donated to mental health charities (see 1985 G1 cartoon Auto-Berserk)), along MP12+ Sideswipe, MP18 Bluestreak, MP19 Smokescreen, MP20+ Wheeljack, MP28 Hot Rodimus, MP25 Tracks and MP39 Sunstreaker along with the Decepticon Seekers next. I would love to see all U.K 1980s G1 Transformers fans to do a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram campaign for Amazon UK to expand their Transformers Masterpiece range. I am absolutely glad that Takara Tomy/Hasbro are redesigning the Decepticon Seekers starting with the legendary, evil and back stabbing 2nd in command ‘Airspace Commander’ Starscream, and make him as a Transformers Masterpiece MP52. I hope he has a head scalp with the evil smirk, plus I would love to see Takara Tomy design a Masterpiece G1 actuate version of Cliffjumper in a variation of MP45 Bumblebee as his 3rd party Masterpiece doesn’t have the Autobot symbol on his chest. I would love to see one day that Amazon UK, Takara Tomy, and Hasbro (MP-44 and Hasbro designed MP10 - Optimus Prime - A.K.A - Toys R Us (TRU) Exclusive as it’s Official Design) bring out all the G1 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987 (Headmasters and Targetmasters 1987 range only). I would also love to see one day Hasbro\Takara Tomy go into partnerships with Third Party Transformers Companies such as FansToys, Unique Toys, Ocrual Max, Transform Element and X-Transbots to create new versions of Jazz, Mirage (Transform Element 03 - Speed Star looks the best), Trialbreaker, Hoist, my favourite triple changer Astrotrain (FansToys Thomas looks the best), my favourite combiner Menasor (X-Transbots or FansToys G1 Stunticons - Motormaster (along with his trailer), Drag Strip, Dead End, Wildrider and Breakdown version looks the best) and many more (especially The FansToys Dinobots - Slag, Sludge, Snarl and Swoop as there’s already a Hasbro/Takara Tomy version of Dinobot Commander Grimlock, along with their arch nemesis G1 cartoon actuate versions of “The Constructicons” - Scrapper, Mixmaster, Long Haul, Hook, Bonecrusher and Scavenger in Masterpiece actuate G1 cartoon versions, along with their combined form “Devastator” in full G1 cartoon Masterpiece glory). I would also love to see either FansToys, X-Transbots or Ocural Max do a G1 Masterpiece cartoon actuate versions of The Protectobots Combiners - Hot Spot, Groove, Streetwise, Blades and First Aid and in their combined form of a more G1 Masterpiece cartoon actuate version of Defensor, and money being donated to HNS or Medical and Emergency First Responder Charities to help and support families and people in during this difficult time. I love to see the third party companies keep the design specs of their Masterpiece Transformers, and allow Hasbro\Takara Tomy just to paint on their Autobot or Decepticon Insignia (Logo), and make them official toy lines as G1 Transformers Masterpieces. This will allow the UK G1 Transformers fans to represent the cartoon that a 1980s generation grew up with, and for future generations on how beautiful and brilliantly designed the G1 1980s Transformers where.

Still the best Transformers movie ever put to film, pity they didn't carry on making more in this vein!
Bought this as a little treat for my inner child! Despite not being old enough to see and appreciate this movie when it came out in the 80's, I was nonetheless a huge Transformers fan and still am today thanks to the IDW Comics.I specifically remember watching this film on VHS back in the day and am still emotionally scarred when (SPOILERS!) Optimus Prime dies, as well as, even more so - the brutal and pretty graphic way the 4 Autobots on the shuttle are murdered one by one. Having watched the earlier Seasons 1 and 2, and considering the semi-campy nature of some of those episodes, this was a huge and shocking change. Of course, as the Extras will point out, it was the company's way of culling the '84 herd and bringing in the new batch of toys to the conveyer belt, but to a child and a proud owner of a G1 Prowl, it's still hard to watch even today for me, such was our attachment to these pretty deep and fleshed out characters (yes robots with personalities, who'd have thought!?) and something which is completely lost in 'Bayformers' human-focussed drivel. The story is admittedly, PRETTY similar to Star Wars and is about as 80's a film and soundtrack as is possible to get, but dammit does it still feel good to us longtime fans to watch! It's mix of humour, added lore (at the time) to the TF Universe and shocking twists, deaths and reanimations, still holds it up today as one of the best animated films ever...in my opinion! I mean, how many other Transforming Robot Planet Monster films are there? The extras are pretty great and should be interesting to fans, the highlight for me being the cut story boards of the Optimus Prime run up to the final battle with Megatron, which neatly have the final films' music and voice overs in the background (to the kept scenes), and possibly explains how that gun Megatron used to kill Prime appeared. Despite being in storyboard form...they look so cool! You have to question why they neglected some of these excellent looking action scenes. I mean, Magnus transporting a battalion of Autobot soldiers to blow up Devastator, Kup taking down three Decepticons singlehanded...why leave it out? Both discs have the exact same content, just one is in Widescreen format. Could they have added more extras? Probably, but I find too much extras to be, frankly, overkill and unnecessary, while here it's a pretty healthy mix, if they'd have actually animated those cut storyboard scenes; we would all be much happier but what can you do?With Bayformers ruining our childhood favourite toys with fart jokes, dull, nonsensical human-driven plots and a franchise that does little more than ape the US's military technology, this is a welcome hit of nostalgia and a reminder of better times and happy childhoods...apart from that one kid who locked himself in the toilet following OP biting it! If dreams come true, IDW will create an animated series in this style, with the films tone and their reworked G1 universe, we can dream! Watch it, as I'm sure you have better thing to do tonight than die!

So much better than the Bay-formers movies!
This movie is just pure awesomeness! Too bad I didn't see this movie at the the movies in the 80s. I was 10-12 years old back then, but the movie wasn't shown at the movies in The Netherlands. Now that I've seen it...wow! The soundtrack, the animation, etc...Great!
