DO NOT BUY
Faulty item - does not work.Appeared to be a genuine AlexaPur replacement on unboxing but after screwing in place and filling the upper container, no water filtered through after 24h. Reinspected the filter and reinstalled, but had the same result after another 24h.

Complete Ripoff. Do Not Purchase!
I should have know better than to try to save $15 on the price of the standard Alexapure filter. I thought I'd gotten a deal for about 10 days... but alas I was sadly mistaken. I actually fill my Alexapure tank with pre-filtered water from my undersink reverse osmosis system. The filters of which I just replaced a month ago. So this filter like my original Alexapure filters should last twice as long as the 5k gallons claimed. Well, I've run maybe 20 gallons through it and it's already plugged up. I filled the top filtering tank with the RO water 3 days ago and it has filtered maybe 8oz in those 3 days. So a $93 filter (after tax) is garbage after maybe 20 gallons of already super clean water.
