The Camera That Made Me Ditch Canon and Sony – No Regrets, Only Stunning Shots!
Alright, confession time: I was a die-hard Canon and Sony user for years. I thought I’d never stray… until the Panasonic LUMIX DC-S5 II entered my life. Let me tell you, switching brands felt like a betrayal at first, but now? It feels like leveling up. This camera is a game-changer, and I’m not just saying that because it makes me look cooler at shoots. Let’s start with the basics: Full-frame sensor? Check. 6K 30P and 4K 60P video? Double-check. Flip screen? Oh, you better believe I’ve been living my best vlogger life with that. The Active IS (image stabilization) is like having a built-in gimbal—my handheld shots look so smooth it’s almost suspicious. The 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens is surprisingly versatile. Whether I’m shooting landscapes, portraits, or capturing my cat doing his best "lion on the savannah" impression, this lens handles it all like a champ. But here’s where it really shines: the colors. Panasonic’s color science is chef’s kiss. My photos and videos have this cinematic quality that I never quite got with my old cameras. And don’t even get me started on low-light performance—it’s like this thing sees in the dark. Switching from Canon and Sony was scary, but within minutes of using the S5 II, I knew I’d made the right call. My photography feels sharper, my videos feel smoother, and my creativity feels, well… unleashed. This camera isn’t just a tool; it’s like having a creative partner who constantly says, “You’ve got this.” Wi-Fi connectivity makes transferring files super easy (goodbye, clunky card readers), and the build quality? Sturdy enough to survive my clumsy hands. Downside? Now my friends keep asking me to shoot their events for free because my work looks so good. Thanks a lot, Panasonic. If you’re on the fence about switching brands or upgrading, trust me—jump in. The LUMIX DC-S5 II isn’t just a camera; it’s a whole new level of awesome. My only regret is not making the switch sooner!

For Photography (student/amateur) POV
So far I have only had a few tests shoots with this camera. I bought this camera for photography mainly. Not really a videographer but will soon in the future like to learn so it’s nice that I already got a kit ready for videography. So far what I see with this camera for photography is amazing, phenomenal and fantastic!! The autofocus and face/animal detection is amazing. It performs beautifully in any kinds of lighting. Lowlight photography is just amazing, you can use a high ISO and there is hardly no noice. It’s just amazing camera overall. I used to have a Nikon D7500 and this camera is just the best upgrade decision I have ever made. So anyone thinking of upgrading from Nikon D7*** series or D3*** the Lumix S5 ii is the one to go for. This camera has made me feel that I am doing and learning photography for the first time again. It’s refreshing and inspiring!!

Great camera. Poor product support
I am very pleased with the camera. It is exceptional and without doubt the best camera I have ever owned. I take a lot of sports images and the autofocus is superb. The video is great too but I knew that would be the case as I also own a Panasonic fz2000. The reason I have only given it 4 stars is because I have been unable to register the camera. The camera's model number is not recognised on the Panasonic website. I contacted their support and was directed to WhatsApp. I sent them details of the problem and a photo of the model number etc on the box that it came in. Despite this each time they have replied they have asked for the same details again and if I have not responded to their WhatsApp chat within 2 minutes they have ended the support enquiry. I have asked them to resolve the matter by email within 48 hours and if they don't I will return the camera to Amazon for a refund. It is now 5th August and I am still unable to register this model on the Panasonic website. The model number is still not recognised and I have heard nothing further from Panasonic support. If you read this Amazon please help so that I don't have to return it. I was finally able to register this on the 13th August despite no further communication from Panasonic support. I just kept trying every few days to register it and at last today the model number was recognised. Support issues aside the camera itself is great. Just need to save a bit more money to buy the 70-300mm lens for it and then the 85mm f1.8. 😁

Best Mid Range Camera
Nice Camera, feels good in the hand. Very easy to use. The battery life is good, comparable to other mirrorless cameras. Its a great price for a full frame camera, the autofocus is good much better than the previous S5 model. For the price I don't think there is another camera on the market that matches this.

Best Fullframe under 2000
I’ve been a canon user for a long time and after tested this in lumix loan, I felt like this is worthy upgrade considering it’s lowlight capability and level of customisation possible. The main advantage is L mount which same as sigma who is known for their long line of affordable top quality lenses.
